Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays for 2-23-14

I break down players into three groups: Cheap Plays, Mid-Tier Values, and Expensive Plays. The cheap plays are players that are low in price, but offer high upside, the mid-tier value plays are players that will exceed their value, and the expensive plays are players who cost a lot, but should carry lineups with big fantasy numbers.

Cheap Plays

Chase Budinger is my 'Cheap play" of the day as he is a meager $3,930 on DS and minimal price on DK. That is amazing value for a starter who will play around 25 minutes. Also, he has scored 12 or more points in four of the last five games.

Aaron Brooks- He is a sneaky cheap play as most people won't target him, but he could go of fin this game. He is the ONLY active PG so he will get more minutes than he did last game.

Kent Bazemore PG, LAL- He played 33 minutes for them last game, posting a line of 15 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assist. He gets the start tonight and should produce similar type numbers.

P.J. Tucker- Had a disastrous games last time out vs the Spurs, but had four straight games with 30+ FPs before that game. He is a high risk/high reward type player that doesn't cost a lot.

Mid-Tier Value Plays

The Manimal (Kenneth Faried) is my sneaky play of the night as he should feast on the lackluster front court for the Sacremento Kings.

Rudy Gay- This is going to be a high scoring game and Denver gives up bi games to opposing SFs. Rudy had 23 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assist, 2 steals, and 3 blocks in his only meeting vs Denver this season.

Nene Hilario/ Marcin Gortat- Both of them tore New Orleans up last night and will do the same thing to Cleveland tonight. They also went for 30+ FPs in their last meeting vs the Cavaliers. Like them even more knowing Nene is only 10-11% of the budget and Gortat is a little more expensive. Start both with confidence and get some cap relief at the same time.

Tobias Harris SF/PF, Orl- Has been playing great recently by having three straight games with 30 FP or more. Also, he will see an increase in minutes and shots with Arron Afflalo out for today’s game.

Expensive Plays

Kevin Love PF/C- The most expensive player tonight and for good reason as he put up a monster triple-double last night. Portland is starting Dorrell Wright, so Love will dominate him and the rest of the Trailblazers. If you can afford him then he makes for a great play.

John Wall PG, Wsh- I talked about him last night and it didn't workout so well, but tonight is different. He will face off vs Kyrie Irving who he torched for 60! FP last time. He won't kill your budget either and is a must start tonight.

Dwight Howard C,Hou- Would easily play him over Demarcus Cousins as Howard has owned the Suns by averaging 49.5 FP in two games vs them this season. With that said, I like some cheaper options at the center position better like Gortat, Robin Lopez, and Spencer Hawes.

Goran Dragic makes for a great play as well and doesn't cost a lot. He dropped 47 FP last time he faced Houston.
