We’re inching closer to the season long playoffs, and there are some fresh veterans who missed time that may offer fresh legs and possible solutions to your roster ills. Last week, we also saw the reemergence of a few fantasy studs that haven’t quite lived up to expectations in 2016. Fear not! There’s still enough football left for them to get hot at the right time and carry you to a championship.  All in all, Week 10 offered plenty of scoring which seems to have lacked this year at times and the tight end position may actually be poised to carry the torch for that trend in Week 11.

Here’s the Red Zone recap:

TARGET MONSTERS:

Don’t look now kids, but Russell Wilson is finally healthy again and Doug Baldwin's is about to skyrocket for the second straight second half in as many years. Wilson and Baldwin went on a historic run to close out 2015 and after Sunday’s 4 catches on 4 red zone targets with 3 TD’s, it’s looking like that time again. Outside of Baldwin, Jordy Nelson continues to his quietly consistent red zone appeal. Nelson had 3 more targets this weekend, catching 2 and 1 for a score. He’s #1 in red zone targets this year with 22. That’s 5 more than anyone else in the NFL YTD. Nelson is a great DFS building block.

Antonio Brown also had 3 red zone targets, and hauled in one for a TD. Expect Brown’s production to improve as Ben Roethlisberger continues to gain strength. Larry Fitzgerald, Rob Gronkowski and Davante Adams all had 3 targets as well, but unfortunately no TD’s between them. With Gronk and Fitz on the injury report, Adams seems like the best bet to carry that volume over to Week 11 of that trio.

MOST EFFICIENCT:

Drew Brees makes owning Saints receivers really frustrating. After a strong trend towards Michael Thomas in recent weeks, Willie Snead caught 2 of 2 red zone looks for 2 TD’s last weekend. So that clearly means owners will chase Snead’s production from Sunday only to be disappointed. Kyle Rudolph was a perfect 2 for 2 with a TD which is another player whose value fluctuates enormously week to week. Will the new OC in Minnesota change that fact? Stay tuned. If you don’t have a better option then roll the dice with Rudolph. I’d still roll with Cameron Brate or even Martellus Bennett in lieu of Gronk in Week 11.

“Old Man River”, Steve Smith Sr., was also targeted twice in the red zone, catching both for a score. Missing time earlier in the season may actually be a plus for Smith down the stretch this year.  The same can be said for James Starks who also went 2 for 2 with a TD. The Packers need to balance out their attack if they’re going to get back on track. As prolific a passer as Aaron Rodgers is, 50 pass attempts a game doesn’t seem to agree with the win column.

ONES TO WATCH:

Le'Veon Bell has been a bit of a forgotten man with the Steelers’ struggles and emergence of Ezekiel Elliott and David Johnson. However, Bell looked great Sunday and is in line for a strong finish. With Sammie Coates dealing with two broken fingers, Eli Rogers may also see an increase in his use in the red zone. Basically, the Browns are in for a long day trying to guard Bell, Rogers and Antonio Brown. Martellus Bennett will likely see an increase in red zone work with Gronkowski out against the dreadful 49ers. Delanie Walker is also another strong TE play versus the Colts. His red zone love may not be huge, but it is consistent. Allen Robinson caught another TD last week and his matchup against the Lions offers a very good chance to keep his little streak going for a third straight week.
