With DFS pricing being looser than ever before, it’s imperative for both GPP and cash game players to get the quarterback position right in Week 8. Mike Evans is under $8K. Jordy Nelson is at “Eric Decker” pricing. Not to mention the fact with guys like Devontae Booker, Ty Montgomery, Matt Asiata and Jacquizz Rodgers all set for full workload and all priced under $7K. You can’t afford to get cute at QB. It’s the Wild West out there, and if you’re not informed, you’ll be on the wrong side of that shootout.

The matchup will give some pause, but Drew Brees at home is always a must start. Yes, Seattle has a strong secondary, but many top units has been burned by Brees in the past in New Orleans. The opponent discount is worth noting and may even shy enough folks away from what would normally be a “no brainer” start of Brees. The top salaried QB, Aaron Rodgers, has a great matchup against Atlanta (31st ranked pass defense). From an RPVPD standpoint, Rodgers is the final “positive” RPVPD QB on the list, but he should have opportunity to still be a decent return on investment based on opponent and projections should you want to go to the very top of the board.

Tom Brady, Andrew Luck and Matt Ryan are expensive, but cost efficient options. However, it’s Josh McCown at $6.4K who will likely be a GPP darling this week and with good cause.  The Jets secondary has been atrocious all year and you can even bump Gary Barnidge up in your rankings as well. The two make a very cost effective pairing that allow for big time RB and WR spending. Jameis Winston against the Oakland Raiders at home is also a terrific investment if you’re looking for more upside in a QB for a few dollars more.

The biggest trap this weekend is Russell Wilson. The Saints defense is terrible, but Wilson is not 100% healthy and his stats are eerily close to Brock Osweiler. They have nearly the same yardage and Osweiler actually has three more TD’s on the year and we’re killing him right now in the fantasy community. Ryan Fitzpatrick may also be tempting against the Browns, but he’s been a turnover machine in 2016 and wasn’t thrilling in his relief win last weekend. Stay away!

BLACK BOOK LINEUP WEEK 8

QB Aaron Rodgers GB $8.8K

He’s coming off a big game and faces the 31st ranked pass defense. Rodgers should have no trouble returning value in cash games.

RB Ezekiel Elliott DAL $8.5K, Devontae Booker $5.6K

Elliott is a beast and could be even more difficult to defend with a healthy Dez Bryant on the field. Booker has all the carries to himself and is ready for the task. Especially at that price!

WR Mike Evans TB $7.9K, T.Y. Hilton IND $7.8K, Jordy Nelson GB $7.5K

Evans has a great matchup and has been incredibly consistent this year. Hilton has been one of the most unsung heroes in fantasy and will assuredly garner his usual double digit targets with TD upside. Nelson is primed to bounce back after a quite Thursday night showing. He’s second behind only Emmanuel Sanders in red zone targets in 2016.

TE Jack Doyle IND $4.9 K

Doyle is for real and not just in the red zone. He’s seeing volume that far exceeds his pricing.

K Josh Lambo SD $4.5K

Denver is always a nice spot for long kicks in the thin air.

D/ST Patriots $4.5K

The Patriots were embarrassed at home a few weeks ago by Buffalo and you can bet that didn’t sit well with them. Revenge games can be overrated, but this one is personal and important in terms of divinsion standing.
