Last year, The Fantasy Black Book Lineup hit the cash game pay lines on FanDuel 12 of 17 weeks and missed by less than 5 points 3 other weeks. The goal here is to produce a lineup that will cash in 50/50’s and be efficient enough to also play in tournaments. It won’t carry the contrarian, deep sleepers necessary to separate in GPP’s but in Week 1 the LU hit 149 with a bad Odell Beckham performance and a goose egg from Gary Barnidge; so this dog will hunt! But who cares about 2015 or last week? It’s all about NOW in DFS so let’s get to work!

QB Eli Manning NYG $8.1K

Yeah, it’s chalky, but sometimes it literally pays to play it safe. Blake Bortles at the same salary was equally worthy of a selection considering his matchup, so if you swap out Bortles/Allen Robinson for Eli and DeAndre Hopkins you can keep the rest of this LU and consider it sexier for GPP play. The facts are, the New Orleans defense is a disaster and in New York Eli and company should make short work of them.

RB Danny Woodhead SD $6.4K, Ryan Mathews PHI $6.3K

The biggest beneficiary of Keenan Allen’s injury is Danny Woodhead. Based on the same scenario last year, Woodhead filled the possession receiver hole vacated by Allen. The Chargers are also not against giving him red zone looks either historically. His PPR upside is well worth his price tag.

Ryan Mathews will not be useful in the receiving game like Woodhead, but Carson Wentz will still have to rely on him plenty in his first road game. Certainly enough to warrant his salary. Mathews is the lead back and a solid, not spectacular play. Thomas Rawls and Tevin Coleman were also intriguing, but the Black Book needed a lone wolf who will receive the lion’s share of carries.

WR Odell Beckham Jr. NYG $9.4K, DeAndre Hopkins HOU $8.3K, Jordan Mathews PHI $6.9K

Odell Beckham is coming off a down game to find the Saints waiting for him at home. This has all the earmarks of one of those HUGE OBJ games with multiple TD’s. DeAndre Hopkins is also coming off of a quiet Week 1 where he was upstaged by the upstart rookie Will Fuller. That won’t happen two weeks in a row and Hopkins at home is a great value this week facing a Chiefs defensive unit that isn’t 100% healthy. Carson Wentz’s favorite target was Jordan Mathews who he targeted 14 times for 114 yards and a TD. That kind of volume against a weak Bears defense is a must own.

TE Coby Fleener NO $5.6K

There were lots of worthy options here in the same price range. Jason Whitten was a target hound out of the gate and I was quite confident doubling down on Gary Barnidge now that the familiar Josh McCown was back under center for the Browns. However, the Giants were awful against TE’s last year and considering how Jason Whitten kept that trend going last week, I’d expect Coby Fleener will be factor on Sunday.

K Jason Myers JAC $4.5K

Josh Brown for the Giants is back from a suspension, but not listed as available. Therefore, I had to settle for the next best thing Myers who should have plenty of chances Sunday for points.

D/ST New England Patriots $4.5K

Ryan Tannehill has never won in Foxboro and the Pats are coming off of a big win. That momentum should continue to carry them as will a healthy Rob Gronkowski. The Patriots also tend to create turnovers which is a win for fantasy owners.
