When a baseball looks like a beach ball to a hitter it’s a special time. Fantasy owners need to maximize this window of productivity while it lasts. Oftentimes it comes from big name superstars, but these hot streaks are far from exclusive to the premium priced DFS talent. Using Relative Position Value per Dollar (RPVPD), we can find players that are outperforming their seasonal average over a recent stretch. These names can be difference makers in the daily fantasy game while their current productivity rolls on and before the pricing algorithm catches up.

Here are five outfielders whose current streaks are outperforming their season average point totals and salaries you can use to your advantage.

1) Ryan Schimpf 2B SD ($2.2K FanDuel)

I know what you’re thinking…who?! Schimpf is far from a household name (even in his own house). But this journeyman minor leaguer does have one tool that’s been consistent throughout his career and that’s power. The 28-year-old won’t be a source of consistent contact, but over his last seven games he’s slashing .304/.407/.870 heading into Tuesday’s games. Over that span he also has four home runs and seven RBI. His bargain basement price makes him almost no risk and all reward.

2) Jedd Gyorko 3B STL ($2.7K FanDuel)

Gyorko was a failed prospect in San Diego who’s received another shot with the Cardinals. So far, he’s had his moments in 2016 and right now he’s in the midst of another one. Like the aforementioned Schrimpf, Gyorko too has four homers in his last seven games and four steals to match them. In the right matchup, he can be a huge DFS value while he’s on a tear. Third base is pretty top heavy in terms of productivity and price, but as an alternative to the big boys and the boring, low ceiling mid-tier, Gyorko has real appeal.

3) Jake Smolinski OF OAK ($2.7K FanDuel)

Smolinkski has had some pop in production in years past, and right now his increased playing time in Oakland has returned some nice stats. He’s hitting .400 over his last seven games with a .464 OBP and more walks than strikeouts. Players that put the ball in play and get on base are game changers in DFS and the ones who’ll cost you next to nothing can be GPP MVP’s. Smolinkski is a great third outfield option while this streak lasts and allows you to roster the Mookie Betts and Mike Trout-types on the same roster in tandem.

4) Matt Kemp OF SD ($3.4K FanDuel)

In the second half of last year, Matt Kemp came on strong and he finished with 100 RBI in 2015. We could be seeing a repeat of last year’s stretch run again. However, the fact he plays for the lowly Padres has made him an afterthought in many fantasy owners' minds. Over his last seven games, Kemp is slugging over .800 and he remains a legitimate offensive threat. He’s always been a “hot and cold” type of player and right now, he’s on fire.

5) Cesar Hernandez 2B PHI ($2.9K DraftKings)

It’s not all about power. Cesar Hernandez has been getting the job done on the base paths of late, swiping four bases in his last seven games while hitting over .340 with a .400+ OBP. He’s not going to be winning you a night of fantasy on his own. However, Hernandez can be productive and cost effective enough to allow for big spending on high profile starting pitchers in cash games. You have to find responsible savings if you want to spend $10K-plus on an ace and Hernandez can be a piece of that puzzle.
