Over the past few years during the NFL season, Ted Schuster and I have been doing a segment on the SiriusXM radio show called “Right, Wrong or Indifferent.” Basically what this means is a scorecard for all of the predictions, rankings and recommendations we gave out during the previous week for fantasy football.

I feel very strongly about users (readers, listeners, customers, etc) holding fantasy analysts responsible for the information and advice they pass along. To be honest, its way too easy for us to disguise our analysis on a week in and week out basis because there are thousands of excuses to be made. After all, we aren’t the ones playing the game, right? Well, nah, eff that. We need to be held accountable. If we aren’t then its too easy to become soft and not pay as much attention or not watch the games that we are trying to make sense out of. You guys deserve better.

Thus, I will be putting our radio segment down on paper and posting it right here each week on the Fantasy Alarm site. I encourage you to help be hold myself (and Ted!) accountable for the information that we provide. Now be careful here because if you are going to try and come at me with blame for something I didn’t say or take my thoughts out of context than I reserve the right to fire back at you. And you had better believe that I will. Just stick to the actual things that I say and we should have no problems.

This is a good spot to post your submissions for our Haterade segment on the SiriusXM show as well. Just light me on fire in the most negative way possible in the comments section, on the Fantasy Alarm Forums or on Twitter (@Jeff_Mans).

Here is my Right, Wrong & Indifferent for Week 2:

RIGHT

Cam Newton, QB, Panthers

Of course everybody was going to start Cam in their seasonal fantasy leagues this week against the 49ers. But you would be stunned to realize that he was less than 15% owned in daily fantasy football this week. I centered my cash game lineups around Cam instead of going cheap and it paid off handsomely.

Joe Flacco, QB, Ravens

I had Flacco down for a bigger game today but if you can get 300+ passing yards and 2+ TD’s from your QB, especially from a value QB, that is a good day.

C.J. Anderson, RB, Broncos

The reason I put Anderson down here is because I pretty much nailed what his production would be this week. He didn’t quite light it up like some folks were thinking but instead did exactly what we can expect from him most weeks this season. I love CJ in this Gary Kubiak offense and those that got him in the draft this year are going to be very, very happy.

Matt Forte, RB, Bears

I had Forte as a top six fantasy RB this week and as my number one DFS RB in the Thursday slate as well. He paid off massively with the three TD performance. Forte is the clear feature RB for the Jets and that is worth its weight in gold.

Danny Woodhead, RB, Chargers

I warned all of you. The problem with Woodhead is that he is a small, one dimensional running back that plays in a bad offense and behind a terrible offensive line.  His smallish stature gives him a higher probability of getting injured, which is what has now happened. Woodhead will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his knee. I am not celebrating his injury so don’t get me confused here. I am though very happy that the people who listened to me about the dangers of Danny Woodhead are not having to scramble to find another RB this week.

Dez Bryant, WR, Cowboys

I believe my exact words were, “You’re going to be hearing a lot about the double D’s (Dak & Dez) this week and this season.” Week one was not great but we told you that Dez did actually have a TD that was called back in that contest. This week was much better and just the start of something I think can be very special here in Dallas.

Michael Crabtree, WR, Raiders

I guess that I am going to have to take credit for everything Michael Crabtree does because I’m one of very few that play him in the daily game. He was 6% owned this week and with a salary that is in the neighborhood of pigs such as Torrey Smith and John Brown.

Tyrell Williams, WR, Chargers

Sure he was outproduced by Travis Benjamin this week but his 3-61-1 line gives us just a taste of what is to come. Beest of all is that he’ll be lower priced and owned next week than Benjamin will be.

Delanie Walker, TE, Titans

It didn’t take a brain surgeon to know that Walker would be productive this week against the Lions. But, picking him over the likes of Jordan Reed, Antonio Gates and Travis Kelce was a key component to a winning week in cash games or seasonal leagues as well.

Dennis Pitta, TE, Ravens

I never expected Pitta to get the kind of targets he did (12) or the receptions (9) or the yardage (102). But I will gladly take it especially considering I picked him up off waivers even after the initial waivers had run this week and plugged him into my starting lineups. I know that a lot of DFS analysts give out their optimal lineups every week but I do and Pitta was in them this week.

Others I Was Right About

Derek Carr, QB, Raiders

Theo Riddick, RB, Lions

Marvin Jones, WR, Lions

Anquan Boldin, WR, Lions

Jarvis Landry, WR, Dolphins

Greg Olsen, TE, Panthers

WRONG

Jaguars Beating the Chargers

If you want something to focus on for your hate messages to me, this would be it. I said all week long that the Jaguars would win by 10+ points and that Las Vegas didn’t know what they were doing by making the Chargers favorites. This went incredibly wrong obviously and it will be the last time that I put any kind of confidence in the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Eli Manning, QB, Giants

Eli was the most heavily owned QB in daily fantasy football this week and it didn’t work out for any of us. I thought the biggest problem with the Saints/Giants game would be figuring out which receiver to use with Eli or Brees and it turned out to be none of the above.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Lions

I’ll admit that I was cautious about Stafford this week because I am always fearful about a Dick LeBeau led defense. But I still had Stafford as a top five QB this week. By the way, if you didn’t see the clip of Stafford running over the Tennessee CB Perish Cox, do yourself a favor and check it out.

T.J. Yeldon, RB, Jaguars

I hate T.J. Yeldon with a passion yet I found myself recommending him all last week in the choice matchup against the lowly Chargers. Do you know that Yeldon’s receiving line of eight catches for 10 yards is the first time in NFL history that a RB has such few yards on so many receptions? He sucks and I should know better than to ever recommend a player that sucks.

Rashad Jennings, RB, Giants

Jennings did get hurt in this game and could actually miss some time with a hand injury but he was not producing before that and thus, I was wrong.

Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Broncos

I just didn’t trust DeMaryius Thomas nor do I going forward. Thomas didn’t play well again this week but he far outproduced what Sanders was able to put up against a completely depleted Colts secondary. All of the Broncos receivers are going to have a tough time being regular fantasy contributors because their offense is all about the run game and their QB is trash.

Eli Rogers, WR, Steelers

I predicted on Friday that Rogers would have more receptions than Antonio Brown this week. Turns out, he wouldn’t have needed many as Brown had his worst game since becoming a starter this week. Still, Rogers was not able to get going even against the swinging gate known as Dre Kirpatrick.

Sammy Watkins, WR, Bills

I’ll stand by my statement that everybody who had Watkins should have started him last Thursday. His foot was not the problem as he had any chances in this game to produce but dropped passes and an underthrown deep ball that could have went for a long TD were the problems.

Others I Was Wrong About

Andrew Luck, QB, Colts

Carlos Hyde, RB, 49ers

Ryan Mathews, RB, Eagles

Allen Robinson, WR, Jaguars

Will Fuller, WR, Texans

Dwayne Allen, TE, Colts

INDIFFERENT

Blake Bortles, QB, Jaguars

Well, the game didn’t go according to plan but Bortles still wound up throwing for 329 yards and two touchdowns. Bortles and the Jags are falling into the same pattern as they had in 2015 when they would fall behind big and play catch up the entire second half. This led to great numbers for Bortles, Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns but not quite for the Jaguars as a whole.

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Patriots

I talked up Garoppolo all week and even had him sixth in my DFS NFL rankings last week. He was playing lights out but didn’t get to finish the job after leaving with an AC joint sprain in his shoulder.

Devonta Freeman, RB, Falcons

I had said all week that Freeman would get twice the points that Tevin Coleman and he was well on his way before a late garbage time touchdown put Coleman over. Folks who didn’t watch the game didn’t see Freeman out snap Coleman 28-15 over the first three quarters. They are going to have a lot more confidence in Coleman than they should going into next week.

Michael Floyd, WR, Cardinals

I felt as though the Cardinals would be able to control the ball against the Buccaneers and thus get the ball into the hands of their secondary playmakers. Floyd got a short touchdown reception but the 2-8-1 stat line is hardly what I was thinking.

Vance McDonald, TE, 49ers

Two weeks in a row that I have been high on McDonald and it turned out right but not in the way that I would have thought. McDonald’s 75 yard TD was a thing of beauty to those who started him but a long catch and run from a TE is never something you can count on. I really expected McDonald to be more involved in the 49ers offense than he has been so far this season. The TD’s are nice but this is highly unsustainable production.
