I don’t know about you, but I get really pissed off when people accuse me of forgetting my roots or where I came from. I’m a strong believer in that where we come from and our life experiences shape who we are today. There is nothing wrong with change as scary as it may seem to some of us. But our roots are planted deep in the soil of our history and those roots are our core.

In recent years we have seen some real amazing changes to the fantasy sports industry and games that we all grew up with and love. Most notably, the growth of daily fantasy sports has gleaned so much of the attention away from our old reliable seasonal leagues that it has created a sizable rift between diehards of each format.

Change is never easy. Moving away from home for the first time. New Coke. That time that Rachel from Friends changed her hairstyle. The first time you saw Shakira shake her backside. Well maybe that last one was a good change but you get my point. Daily fantasy sports (DFS) have become a cultural phenomenon over the past few years and some of you don’t like it. I get it.

Those of you who have supported my career in sports, fantasy sports and broadcasting over the years know that I’ve been playing fantasy sports for a long time (since 1989 to be exact). You also may have noticed that over the past 18 months I have had a lot of success playing the daily game. Big checks, Playboy Playmates, trips around the world, new daily fantasy radio shows and videos have become the new norm for this kid from the South side. Make no mistake either, I have enjoyed every single minute of it.

But toward the end of 2015 when reflecting on all that we’ve accomplished at Fantasy Alarm and me personally playing fantasy sports, I noticed that maybe we had become a little too heavy on the DFS content side. This had nothing to do with the legal issues and accusations that were popping up in various states either. The fact is, as those of you who listen to the Alarm Show realize, I have never been worried about the legality of DFS. It needed to be regulated and cleaned up and that is exactly what is happening now. It’s a very good thing for fantasy sports as a whole.

The DFS Playbook PRO here at Fantasy Alarm has become a monumental success in winning our users over $4 million over the past two years as well as picking up the Fantasy Sports Trade Association’s “Daily Product of the Year” award. I am very proud of the success of this product and more importantly the way we have created thousands of informed, educated and winning DFS players as a result.

But it is time to get back to our roots.

You may have noticed a lot of improvements of our web site over the past few months. I say this knowing full well that I’ll get a ton of “the new design sucks!!” comments thrown at me which is perfectly fine. As I said earlier, change is never an easy thing. But I hope you all understand that these changes you have seen have taken literally thousands of hours over the past four months to implement and that each and every change has been done to make your experience with us better. From the aesthetic look of the website, to the brand new forums, abundance of new audio and videos to an expanded Daily Fantasy section we have taken every bit of feedback from our users and given them what they said they wanted in the best way possible. It will take some getting used to and we have already felt the fire of many of you who have noticed bugs with the new format. For that and continuing to support us, we all thank you.

It is with all of this in mind that we are very proud to unveil our brand new fantasy product in the Fantasy Alarm Seasonal Playbook PRO. See what we did there? Basically just took the DFS and changed it to “Seasonal” and…well…there you go.

Despite the boring name, you can bet your backside that this product will make you a better fantasy player and help you win your seasonal fantasy leagues. We’ve invested considerably in providing our users with the absolute best content, tools and personalities in seasonal fantasy sports starting with the 2016 MLB season. The Seasonal Playbook PRO will consist of daily articles from award winning writers, in-depth analysis from the entire team here at Fantasy Alarm, time saving tools and technology to help you plan everything from waivers to lineups and access to our brand new forums and live chats.
