Were you one of those people who liked report card day back in school? I wasn’t but not for reasons that you might think. Being the youngest of five my parents really didn’t care what kind of grades I got because at that point they had seen it all. Even at a young age I had a thirst to learn and to know. I would pay attention to the things that I wanted to learn about and drift off when the class was talking something I didn’t care about. This happens in fantasy sports all of the time except now I am the teacher, which sucks a lot more than I thought it did by the way.

So each week I will be going over all of my rankings, projections, lineup advice and strong opinions and letting the record speak for itself. Obviously this is a risky proposition considering if I am wrong too much it could be a severe hit to my career. But I have confidence because fantasy football is something that I love and have a desire to learn about every single day. So despite the risk, I accept this challenge.

Here is the second edition of Right, Wrong or Indifferent taking a look back at NFL Week 10:

RIGHT

Aaron Rodgers, QB, Packers

Ok, so not much of a stretch here but I had Rodgers as the #1 QB this week and it isn’t often that anybody lives up to that billing. He owns the Bears and only played 2.5 quarters en route to 6 TD passes.

Mark Sanchez, QB, Eagles

I stuck my neck out in a big way this week for Mark Sanchez. As we can clearly see, he is no different than Nick Foles and it isn’t often you get the opportunity to acquire a layer of this magnitude on waivers in week 10. A lot of people owe me kudos after this one because it felt like I had to battle nearly everyone over Sanchez’s value this week.

Frank Gore, RB, 49ers

I guess that I can’t blame any of you for forgetting about Gore considering his own head coach and offensive coordinator often do as well. Granted Gore started out strong against the Saints only to fade down the stretch. But you cannot ignore the fact that the 49ers are 20-3 under Jim Harbaugh when Gore gets 20+ carries.

Ronnie Hillman, RB, Broncos

Do you remember three weeks ago when everybody was going ga-ga over Ronnie Hillman? Yeah…I was on the other side of that argument steadfastly denying Hillman’s season long appeal. Hillman ran out of gas two weeks ago and is now on the shelf for at least two weeks with a foot injury. Montee Ball is ready to return and will likely assume the lead RB job in Denver once again.

Terrance West, RB, Browns

I really thought this was going to be more cut and dry after Thursday nights game but the Browns gave all three RB’s carries to further confuse the matter. Still, when many were avoiding the situation I strongly recommended using West and even Crowell in some formats which worked out well for those who trusted me.

Bryce Brown, RB, Bills

Please understand that I am not overly happy about Brown’s performance but the numbers don’t lie. I talked Brown up as a PPR league fill in this week and despite the mediocre numbers (7-35 rushing; 6-65 receiving), he was the 14th best fantasy RB this week. Most weeks this is not a win but this week it certainly was.

Brandon Marshall, WR, Bears

The Bears were terrible on Sunday night. But do you know who wasn’t terrible? That’s right, Brandon Marshall. I don’t know why everybody was underrating Marshall coming into week 10 but I suspect they might next week as well. Marshall’s 8-112-1 was good enough to be the fourth best fantasy WR this week.

Anquan Boldin, WR, Ravens

If I was running an NFL team I would fill my roster with Anquan Boldin’s. This guy makes all the difficult catches and produces no matter what the stakes are in any given week. I will say that Boldin was very up and down on Sunday as his four dropped passes were more than he had in the entire 2013 season. Still, Boldin finished the week 10th in WR fantasy points.

Torrey Smith, WR, Ravens

I will fully admit that I don’t particularly like Torrey Smith as a player. But going into week 10 I pointed out that Smith had accumulated 17 targets, 11 catches, 195 yards and four TD’s in his past three games. Smith again produced in week 10 going 5-75-1 giving him six total TD’s on the season.

Mychal Rivera, TE, Raiders

I was definitely not the only fantasy analyst to like Rivera this week but it worked out well for all of us. Rivera did most of his work on the Raiders final drive of the game but it amounted to 6-64-1 or 18.4 fantasy points. That is the third most of any fantasy TE this week.

Jared Cook, TE, Rams

A few of you asked me about sleeper TE’s this past week and on a number of occasions I talked about Jared Cook. Now, Cook only had two catches on the day but his rumbling, bumbling, stumbling  59 yard TD catch and run made it worth wild.

WRONG

Tony Romo, QB, Cowboys

I figured the Cowboys would keep the ball on the ground as much as humanly possible and thus Romo was not a recommended starting QB for me this week. Although I was wrong here I honestly think the Cowboys are insane for leaving him in there to take as many hits as he did on Sunday.

 Michael Vick, QB, Jets

So he didn’t ask to be taken out of the game as I was sure was going to happen. Vick actually did get hit out of bounds early on and I thought for sure he would bow out at that point but he did not. It was a lousy week for QB’s but those of you who defied me and went with Vick were rewarded albeit mildly.

Reggie Bush, RB, Lions

I was perplexed that everybody seemed to be overlooking Bush this week since he was healthy and ready to resume his lead back role in the Lions offense. There was skepticism about him leading into this week but I was steadfast in Bush’s corner. Then, he hurt his ankle yet again and left the game prematurely.

Denard Robinson, RB, Jaguars

I will go to the ends of the earth in defecting against Robinson, who isn’t a good RB. You all can suck on the teat of Denard Robinson for as long as you want but eventually the milk will go bad and you’ll see what I see right now.

Bobby Rainey, RB, Buccaneers

The Falcons are the worst run defense in the league but none of the Bucs RB’s were able to get it going on Sunday. I told many of you to start Rainey and even put him in my optimal DFS NFL lineups this week which didn’t work out too well.

Mark Ingram, RB, Saints

It’s nice to see Ingram finally getting a legitimate opportunity to carry the ball on a full time basis in the Saints backfield. I didn’t rank him very high this week because I wasn’t sure about the health of Khiry Robinson and I definitely didn’t like the matchup against the 49ers tough run defense.

Jordy Nelson, WR, Packers

It’s not that I didn’t love Jordy Nelson this week because I did. I am taking the hit on Jordy because I said over and over that in DFS I was going to roll with Randall Cobb instead due to his success against the Bears.

Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Giants

Beckham is starting to grow on me but I didn’t like him or any other Giants receiver against the Seahawks this week. Beckham proved me wrong however, which was bad for this week but proved to me that I can indeed trust him going forward this season.

Larry Donnell, WR, Giants

While I am apologizing for Giants receivers I might as well add Larry Donnell to the list.

Owen Daniels, TE, Ravens

Daniels is frustrating the hell out of me lately. I still believe in him for the long term but he disappointed me and everybody that I recommended him to this week. This is a clear example of a player that I trust because the history of the system tells me so.

INDIFFERENT

Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Steelers

I spent half the week stressing how uneasy I felt about this matchup because everything that looks too good to be true in fantasy football, usually is. But, I did have Ben Roethlisberger in my DFS NFL Playbook and even put him in some of the optimal lineups for this week. As disappointing as his performance was, it’s hard to say that 343 yards is terrible.

DeMarco Murray, RB, Cowboys

I predicted that Murray would have 200+ yards rushing against the lowly Jaguars in London this week. We had to settle for 19-100 rushing and 6-31 receiving for the NFL’s leading rusher. If you’re disappointed by this you should probably lower your expectations or put yourself into a home.

Justin Forsett, RB, Ravens

I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t starting to worry about Forsett’s workload going into week 10. But I still had him as my 13th RB because quite frankly I hated most of the other options. Luckily Forsett ran for two TD’s and has reclaimed his spot as a solid every week starting RB in fantasy football.

Antonio Brown, WR, Steelers

Sure Antonio Brown had his worst game of the season but eight catches for 74 yards is far from a bad day at the office. Brown is still the surest thing in fantasy football despite the slight disappointment here.

Jermaine Kearse, WR, Seahawks

Both me and Ted Schuster had Kearse as one of our sleeper WR’s this week. He even made an appearance in the DFS Playbook. But 3-70 is decent but underwhelming at the same time.

Randall Cobb, WR, Packers

I totally predicted that Cobb would be the Packers leading receiver this week against the Bears. Of course, Jordy Nelson went bananas and left Cobb in his dust. Still, are you going to complain about 4-72-1? If so, you are a bag of cowshit.

Julius Thomas, TE, Broncos

I keep telling you that Thomas cannot continue to rely on TD’s alone for fantasy value but I still rank him as the #3 TE. Some folks do not understand that I am not blasting Thomas rather just warning you of his shortcomings instead.
