Were you one of those people who liked report card day back in school? I wasn’t but not for reasons that you might think. Being the youngest of five my parents really didn’t care what kind of grades I got because at that point they had seen it all. Even at a young age I had a thirst to learn and to know. I would pay attention to the things that I wanted to learn about and drift off when the class was talking something I didn’t care about. This happens in fantasy sports all of the time except now I am the teacher, which sucks a lot more than I thought it did by the way.

So each week I will be going over all of my rankings, projections, lineup advice and strong opinions and letting the record speak for itself. Obviously this is a risky proposition considering if I am wrong too much it could be a severe hit to my career. But I have confidence because fantasy football is something that I love and have a desire to learn about every single day. So despite the risk, I accept this challenge.

Here is Right, Wrong or Indifferent taking a look back at NFL Week 8:

RIGHT

Nick Foles, QB, Eagles

I had Foles as the #7 QB this week and he did not disappoint. The Cardinals defense can be thrown on and Foles feasted on the suddenly exposed Patrick Peterson on Sunday.

Zach Mettenberger, QB, Titans

Since the draft I have been touting Mettenberger as the best dynasty league quarterback in this years group. There is no questioning Mettenberger’s arm strength or his poise in the pocket. He was very impressive this week and has as bright an upside as Blake Bortles or Johnny Manziel.

Tom Brady, QB, Patriots & Rob Gronkowski, TE, Patriots

I had Brady and Gronkowski all over in DFS this week. The Bears had nobody to stop the powerful Gronk in the middle of the field and we saw him dominate just as suspected.

Theo Riddick, RB, Lions

In every waiver wire piece I did last week the name Theo Riddick was recommended strongly. When either Reggie Bush or Joique Bell are out, which happens to be quite often, Riddick has immense value. He is every bit as good as Bush or Bell in this offense and his hands make him a huge threat in PPR scoring formats.

Travaris Cadet, RB, Saints

It’s always strange to be an advocate for a player for weeks and then find yourself telling folks not to start him when his opportunity comes. Cadet just isn’t a heavy volume type of runner or receiver. He is used mostly as a blocking RB and is very good to that end. I had to talk a lot of people out of Cadet this week so hopefully they listened.

Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Cardinals

Oh don’t worry I will talk about Michael Floyd later on in this article but for now let me boast about Larry Fitzgerald. I was high on Fitz against the Eagles this week and even featured him in the DFS Playbook as his price was incredibly low.

Brandin Cooks, WR, Saints

Cooks was simply due for a big game and he didn’t disappoint that is for sure. Cooks tore the Packers defense apart for 6-94-1 and also rushed for a four yard touchdown. Going forward I would still only recommend starting Cooks in PPR formats but for this week he really worked in all leagues.

Donte Moncrief, WR, Colts

It was a real good week for me. I was right on the Colts WR situation from Reggie Wayne not playing, to Hakeem Nicks starting and Donte Moncrief being the most productive. There is a very good chance that Wayne misses week nine as well making Moncrief a legitimate WR3 in fantasy.

Jimmy Graham, TE, Saints

So many were panicking over Graham based on his complete no-show in week seven. This week Graham got nearly a full complement of snaps and paid off by going 5-59-1.

Jordan Cameron, TE, Browns

I’ve been right on Cameron pretty much all season yet so many of you continue to doubt me and believe in Cameron. He is simply not a feature part of the Browns offense under Kyle Shanahan this season.

WRONG

Kyle Orton, QB, Bills

I won’t apologize whatsoever for this. I talked a few of you guys out of starting Kyle Orton this week and although that turned out to be wrong, it was the right decision to make. The fact that a percentage of you are going to go out and start Orton in coming weeks makes me genuinely sad.

Ryan Tannehill, QB, Dolphins

Tannehill did exactly what I thought he would do this week in terms of running the read-option. He kept the ball a ton in the first half and racked up some nice rushing yards. The problem was that he did almost nothing else and finished with just 14.6 fantasy points this week.

Ben Tate, RB, Browns

Good grief. Tate completely wet the bed this week although the late TD saved it from being a completely awful performance. Still, Tate and the Browns running game in general were just awful and should be reevaluated going forward.

Marshawn Lynch, RB, Seahawks

I hate Marshawn Lynch. He is a complete psychopath and I am genuinely happy to not own him in any seasonal leagues.

Denard Robinson, RB, Jaguars

I will never ever recommend Denard Robinson. He is not even close to being even an average NFL caliber running back.

Mike Wallace, WR, Dolphins

I was super high on Wallace against the Jaguars this week and he failed me miserably. Considering Ryan Tannehill only completed 16 passes for 196 yards we should be happy that Wallace was able to put up 2-59 yards.

Percy Harvin, WR, Jets

On the Friday Night edition of the Fantasy Alarm Show I predicted that Harvin would score a TD in his first game with the Jets. This was a terrible prediction in hindsight.

Crockett Gillmore, TE, Ravens

I fell into my own trap that I constantly tell all of my listeners not to and that is chase a situation. I wanted Owen Daniels to tear up the Bengals so badly that when he suddenly went under the knife last week I just plugged Gillmore into his place. I still do like Gillmore’s fantasy upside moving forward but that was a real bad decision and recommendation by me.

INDIFFERENT

Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Steelers

I feel like I should have been higher on Big Ben considering the mammoth day he had on Sunday. In truth though, I did have him in the top 14 of QB’s and have always been a supporter of his as far as starting fantasy QB’s are concerned.

Lorenzo Taliaferro, RB, Ravens

I’ve been an advocate of Taliaferro all season long but wasn’t high on him until Sunday morning when it was announced that Bernard Pierce was inactive. This is one of many reasons why you should tune into the Fantasy Alarm Gameday Chats every Sunday morning starting at 11 AM ET.

Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Panthers

Although I’ve been high on Benjamin all season long, I was down on him in week 8. He didn’t play well at all but still was able to rack up 4-94 yards. Trust me though I will be extremely high on Benjamin this coming week against the hapless Saints offense.
