Tonight’s Strategy

Last night, I managed to break even on the giant 11-game slate. Tonight, we got seven, which I find most enjoyable. We have lots of options to choose from, and I fully plan to attack in GPPs and Quintuple-ups.

We have some expected high point totals with the Nets-Warriors set at a whopping 234.5. Warriors, come out and play.

As always, all fantasy ppg numbers are FanDuel specific.

So, having to write this at 2 a.m., I bring you today’s Position Coach.

Point Guard

With the Brooklyn Nets allowing the most fantasy ppg to the PG position it is hard not to take a shot on Stephen Curry tonight. He has been on fire lately scoring more than 50 fantasy points in three out of his last five.

Kyrie Irving also gets a positive match-up facing the Bulls. There are not a lot of Cleveland players I am hot on, but considering he has been scoring 40 plus fantasy ppg as of late, if I was to avoid Curry, I would look here to save a few bucks.

Tyler Johnson off the bench continues to produce. He is averaging over 30 fantasy ppg in his last four and should be lower owned tonight with so many mid-priced PG options.

I do not take Patrick Beverley much; the reason is I find it hard to take any Houston players outside of James Harden on a regular basis. Tonight, Beverley benefits with the best defensive match-up for the Rockets with the Timberwolves allowing the eighth most fantasy ppg to the PG position.

Rajon Rondo is hit or miss, but he is cheap and has dropped 56 fantasy points on FanDuel in his last two games.

Shooting Guard

Without a doubt Fozzy the Beard a.k.a. James Harden is the top play at the two tonight. The match-up is terrible but the reality is, for the most part, he is match-up proof. My exposure will be limited though at his price-point.

Klay Thompson is among the bevy of Warriors I am digging tonight. The Nets also allow the most fantasy ppg to the two and Thompson is your best chance at a possible 50-spot without paying for Harden.

Atlanta is allowing the fifth most fantasy ppg to the two opening the door for Evan Fournier to absolutely go off. He can put up 30 fantasy points in elite match-ups like this one.

Enter the other Curry. Yes, Seth Curry. Starting at PG he has been producing decent fantasy production for a low-end price. Last night he dropped over 30 fantasy points versus Minnesota and could repeat Tonight

Courtney Lee is risky and overlooked but the reality is he has scored over 20 fantasy ppg in four straight including a 40-spot. In a boom-or-bust, he's my guy.

Small Forward

You guessed it, the Warriors top the SF position, lucky for them they have Kevin Durant. The Nets are allowing the most fantasy ppg to the three and I really prefer KD over LeBron James if you are paying up. The blowout risk concerns me little, why? In order for a blowout to occur, someone has to go off.

If you fade Durant, Jimmy Butler still is the best play from the Chicago side of things. Cleveland is allowing the seventh most fantasy ppg to the SF position and I see no way Jimmy don't drop a 50-spot tonight. I am calling it!

Robert Covingtons price is on the rise and it should be. He is averaging over 38 fantasy ppg in his last four and gets a great match-up tonight facing the Knicks.

Weezy! Open the door for Jeffersons. No, not George, who was the man by the way, but Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. I will keep running him out as long he keeps producing.

Andre Iguodala, if you’re worried about the blowout he is a great way to get some cheap exposure here. He has scored over 20 fantasy ppg in three straight.

Power Forward

I am having a hard time rostering Anthony Davis since DeMarcus Cousins joined the ranks. For me they both are complete fades at their price right now.

Draymond Green can be quite maddening at times, the Warriors offense is way to amped and Green seems to draw the short straw on many nights. After back-to-back fantasy duds, I see a major rebound tonight.

Dario Saric came out of nowhere and turned into quite a fantasy threat. He is putting up well over 30 fantasy ppg as of late and should see plenty of action versus the Knicks.

Dirk Nowitzki may be old but he can still win you a few bucks. The Pelicans are allowing the fifth most fantasy ppg to the center position which Dirk should feast on.

Aaron Gordon despite being hit or miss has huge fantasy upside, even in a bad match-up like tonight. For $5,000 on FD in GPPs, I am more than willing to give him a shot.

Bobby Portis seems to be playing heavy minutes every other game as of late. If this holds true, he should tonight and could grab you 25 fantasy points, or 10. GPP only.

Center

Karl-Anthony Towns may get a neutral match-up tonight versus the Rockets but he is averaging over 46 fantasy ppg in his last four. If you pay up at center, he is the guy.

Flip the coin, Dwight Howard gets a positive match-up with the Magic allowing the third most fantasy ppg to the center position. The only thing to be aware of is Howard can get 27 fantasy points, or 47. I smell an easy 30-spot regardless.

Willy Hernangomez is averaging a touch over 30 fantasy ppg in his last three for a fair price in a slightly positive match-up. Certainly, a viable play tonight.

Even cheaper, Robin Lopez is averaging nearly 30 fantasy ppg in his last two facing a Cleveland team that can be tough on centers. In a GPP, he should be low owned.
