Tonight’s Strategy

I find coming back from the All-Star break rather tough. I am in full baseball mode now and will be decreasing my bank roll in DFS NBA substantially from here out. You add in a 10-game slate, and well, even better to slow it down. I was able to 3X my bankroll last night and look to continue tonight by running some GPPs and Quintuple ups.

As always, all fantasy ppg numbers are FanDuel specific.

So, with a busy Friday as always ahead of me, I bring you today’s Position Coach Article.

Point Guard

With the Thunder adding no new offensive weapons, Russell Westbrook remains the king of the court. Until this changes, he will be the top PG on the slate each night, regardless of match-up.

Eric Bledsoe is facing a Bulls team that allows a ton of fantasy points to the PG position and is averaging over 50 fantasy ppg in his last two, while maintaining a true usage rate over 30-percent.

Kyle Lowry is facing my Celtics tonight who are allowing the ninth most fantasy ppg to the one. I easily smell a 40-spot here.

With the Nets-Nuggets game having the highest expected point total on the slate at 227.5, I want some exposure to it.

Jameer Nelson remains the starting PG with Emmanuel Mudiay coming off the bench. He has scored more than 30 fantasy ppg in three straight giving him a spot in my main line up on FD.

D’Angelo Russell feels like a must play with Lou Williams being traded. The Thunder are allowing the fourth most fantasy ppg to the one and Russell (both) should feast tonight in this one.

Going even cheaper, I am willing to run some Jordan Clarkson out tonight at his low price-point. I will be running several Lakers throughout my lineups being extremely curious how things are going to go now.

Shooting Guard

Dion Waiters is starting in the three facing an Atlanta team allowing the third most fantasy ppg to the position. He is averaging over 36 fantasy ppg in his last six.

Bradley Beal sure gets a juicy match-up tonight facing the Sixers who are allowing the ninth most fantasy ppg to the two. He’s been quiet his last three games and is overdue for a 35-spot.

Will Barton off the bench has a higher true usage rate than all but four of the starting SG on the slate. Did I mention he is also averaging over 36 fantasy ppg in his last seven?

Seth Curry, who looks a lot like his brother, benefits from the best defensive match-up on the Mavericks tonight and will find his way into a lineup or two of mine.

Gary Harris continues to start over Barton and why not? He is averaging a hair over 30 fantasy ppg in his last two facing a Nets team that allows the most fantasy ppg to the position.

Nik Stauskas is throwing up 20-spots more nights than not with a 30-fantasy point upside. For the price, I am willing to take a shot here in some GPPs.

Jimmy Butler tops the SF position tonight. He is averaging over 44 fantasy ppg in his last five facing the Suns, and easily found his way into my main lineup on FD.

Small Forward

Gordon Hayward is facing a Bucks team allowing the eighth most fantasy ppg to the three. He is averaging over 42 fantasy ppg in the last five he played over 30 minutes.

Otto Porter well reminding me of them delicious freezer pops, is dropping 30-spots on a regular basis. Facing the Sixers, why not again tonight?

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, no relation to George, is moving on up. I want some Brooklyn exposure to this high O/U and Jefferson for his price does offer 25 fantasy point upside.

Andre Roberson continues to dominate my model when I run it. The Lakers are allowing the second most fantasy ppg to the three and Roberson has been providing some steady fantasy production for cheap.

In GPPS, I am running some Brandon Ingram. At some point, I expect the Lakers to let this kid run wild, maybe tonight is the night. The Thunder are also allowing the fourth most fantasy ppg to the three if it helps.

Power Forward

Nikola Jokic prior to his last game versus the Kings that left many a DFS player unhappy, was averaging over 50 fantasy ppg in his last four. He’s playing the Nets tonight people, if you can afford him, play him.Power Forward

I will admit I am a donkey for the late bullet. I hate watching everyone’s scores climb while mine sits there. LaMarcus Aldridge is where I am looking to scratch that itch. He benefits from the best defensive match-up in the game.

Julius Randle is still cheap and I suspect his production is going to increase. Even though he gets a less-than-favorable match-up versus OKC, I am all-in here.

Trevor Booker is a nice way to gain some more exposure to the Brooklyn side of this expected shootout. Usually when he plays over 26 minutes, he produces close to, or over 30 fantasy points. The question is, will he get them tonight?

Cheap? Larry Nance Jr. makes me feel that way quite often. But the truth is I have a Bro-Nance. In GPPs I am going to have exposure to him tonight hoping he snags 30 minutes of playing time. He is averaging over 35 fantasy ppg when this happens.

Amir Johnson, up and down for sure, but it really feels like the night for him. Just a hunch.

Center

Brook Lopez and Martin Gortat both come in tied at the top of model for tonight. Both get great defensive match-ups and can score major fantasy points. Take which ever one you can more easily afford when constructing your lineup.

I am loving me some Jonas Valanciunas tonight. The Celtics are allowing the fourth most fantasy ppg to the center position opening the door for a 30-spot tonight at a reduced price.

As always, at some point, it must happen for Jahlil Okafor. In my boom-or-bust GPP, he is my guy.
