Tonight’s Strategy
This feels like another one of those nights where the best option to cash is to find a bunch of mid-priced players who all can drop a 30-spot. On FanDuel, that adds up to a score of 360. Not bad eh? So why punch yourself in the head using Anthony Davis when you can be safe and throw a player like Paul Millsap into your lineup. Catch my drift? Let’s cash some lineups.
As always, all fantasy ppg numbers are FanDuel specific.
Fridays are crazy in my life, but still with that, I bring you today’s Position Coach Article.
Point Guard
My plan is to not spend up tonight at PG, but if I was to do so, I would use Isaiah Thomas. The Magic are allowing the third most fantasy ppg to the one, while Thomas has dropped over 40 fantasy ppg in seven straight. He also has the highest true usage rate at the position.
Jeff Teague continues to be a value at his price-point and is facing a Kings team that allows the eighth most fantasy ppg to the one.
Jrue Holiday seems, on most nights, to be the last real scoring option on the floor for the Pelicans. His price on FD is criminal for his upside, even in a poor defensive match-up.
On a regular basis, T.J. McConnell manages to touch many offensive categories which gives him quite a bit of upside for his price. He is averaging nearly 30 fantasy ppg over his last three.
Talk about GPP plays? Spencer Dinwiddie, Matthew Dellavedova, and Patty Mills (depending on Tony Parkers status) are all in a position tonight to drop 25-30 fantasy points for next to nothing. Or, he can get you nothing. Hence the term, “boom or bust”.

Shooting Guard
The two tonight is the best place to save with several players under $5,000 on FD who can drop 25-35 fantasy points. James Harden, Dwyane Wade, and C.J. McCollum are all viable plays I will not use.
Dion Waiters is as high as I am going tonight at the two. He’s scored over 40 fantasy ppg now in three straight, a trend I see continuing with him starting in the three.
Courtney Lee, although dicey, is averaging over 25 fantasy ppg over his last three and is facing a Hornets team that allows the sixth most fantasy ppg to the two.
With DeMar DeRozan ruled out tonight, Norman Powell should draw the start in a great match-up versus Milwaukee. He is averaging over 30 fantasy ppg in his last two.
Further value?
Garrett Temple, Wayne Ellington, and Iman Shumpert (who is facing a Nets team that allows the most fantasy ppg to the two) are all in a position tonight to exceed value, although a bit riskier than the options above.

Small Forward
With all the money saved above, you can now spend up below.
LeBron James is the top play at the three tonight with the Nets allowing the most fantasy ppg to the position. Even in a blowout, someone must go off for it to be one.
Jimmy Butler has the best defensive match-up for the Bulls tonight. Factor in him averaging nearly 48 fantasy ppg over his last two and he looks enticing.
Paul George has been red-hot, scoring over 40 fantasy ppg in two straight. I find his price a bit deflated and will take advantage of this one tonight.
Robert Covington and Otto Porter come so close tonight they make the same sentence.
Covington faces a Rockets team allowing the sixth most fantasy ppg to the three, while Porter benefits from the best defensive match-up for the Wizards with the ability to drop a 35-spot.
I will say it every time they play, attack the Celtics frontcourt.
Aaron Gordon is the cheapest I will go tonight at the three right now. Although risky, he can drop 30 fantasy points in a flash, especially against the Celtics.

Power Forward
I would rather light my head on fire and put it out with a hammer than roster Anthony Davis. Just saying.
Paul Millsap is my favorite play at the four tonight facing a Wizards team allowing the fifth most fantasy ppg to the position.
If not Millsap, I go with LaMarcus Aldridge, or both, depending on how you are spending. Aldridge is facing a Pelicans team who is allowing the second most fantasy ppg to the four while having the ability to absolutely dominate, especially if Kawhi Leonard sits again, but he looks like a go.
What was that about the Celtics?
Serge Ibaka tonight faces a Celtics team allowing the ninth most fantasy ppg to the four. For his price, I am all in here.
Ersan Ilyasova gets a great match-up versus a Rockets team allowing the fourth most fantasy ppg to the four. With the return of Joel Embiid more-than-likely, we will just have to wait and see, his production will suffer some. At his price-point, I am still on board.
Zach Randolph not only makes a great late bullet, but also gets a great match-up facing a Portland team allowing the sixth most fantasy ppg to the four.

Center
Marc Gasol was the first player that jumped out at me tonight and was the player I built my main LU around. Portland is allowing the fifth most fantasy ppg to the center position while Gasol is averaging over 46 fantasy ppg in his last four.
Nikola Vucevic is facing the Celtics. Do I need to beat this dead horse?
Greg Monroe is averaging well over 35 fantasy ppg in his last two. For the price, he is worth the risk.
In a GPP, or extreme pinch to save a few hundred bucks for a significant upgrade, I would take a shot on Clint Capela facing a Sixers team allowing the seventh most fantasy ppg to the position.
