Tonight’s Strategy
Six-game slates are my favorite, so I will be going a tad heavy tonight. I have excluded the Suns-Thunder game from this article due to poor contest selection.
While fantasy ppg numbers are similar across most sites, for this article I am using FanDuel numbers.
So, with snow falling, I bring you todays Position Coach Article.
Point Guard
Damian Lillard gets a neutral matchup against the Warriors in the game with the highest expected point total of the night at 230.5. He’s averaging nearly 45 fantasy ppg over his last four.
Patrick Beverley continues to get it done for cheap and faces a Minnesota team that allows the seventh most fantasy ppg to the PG position. He has scored over 25 fantasy ppg in six straight, including two games where he put up over 35.
Kyrie Irving has had two games off and should see plenty of minutes facing a Lakers team that allows the sixth-most fantasy ppg to the one. Even in a blowout, I believe he plays. Keep a close eye on this game as I believe some players may get a nap tonight.
Jeff Teague is averaging nearly 35 fantasy ppg over his last three and is facing the Pistons in a favorable match-up for a decent price.
If you really want a punt play, even though tonight I do not think you need it, Brandon Jennings should see a decent number of minutes regardless of whether Derrick Rose plays. GPP only!

Shooting Guard
I will have minimal exposure to James Harden tonight. This just feels like a mid-priced kind of evening.
C.J. McCollum has the second-highest true usage rate on the slate at the two and gets a favorable matchup tonight. He gives you that 40 fantasy point upside for a decent price.
On the other side, I also love Klay Thompson. He faces a Portland team that allows the eighth most fantasy ppg to the two, while having the ability to drop a 40-spot with ease for cheap.
The Hawks are allowing the seventh most fantasy ppg to the two and Nicolas Batum has back-to-back games with more than 40 fantasy points.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had a bounce-back night last night when he dropped over 35 fantasy points for peanuts. He gets a favorable match-up tonight against the Pacers and could easily repeat.
Both Gary Harris, and J.R. Smith find themselves in great match-ups while in position to put up decent fantasy production for a cheap, cheap price. In GPPs, I will have exposure to both.

Small Forward
For the most part, I like the cheaper guys at the three, but will have some exposure to LeBron James. Even in a blowout, for it to become one, someone must go off. The Lakers are allowing the second most fantasy ppg to the three and if James does not rest, he should feast tonight.
With the Houston-Minnesota game having the second-highest expected point total of the evening at 221, I want some Timberwolves exposure. Andrew Wiggins gets a favorable match-up and dropped two 30-spots, and a 40-spot in his last four.
Thabo Sefolosha faces a Hornets team that allows the eighth most fantasy ppg to the three and has averaged over 26 fantasy ppg in his last four, for less than $5,000 on FD.
Loul Deng, I know, I want to punch myself in the face for saying it, but the fact is, he’s averaging over 28 fantasy ppg over his last four. For a boom or bust? Why not?
Evan Turner off the bench is always a favorite play of mine. He is averaging more than 25 fantasy ppg over his last three while providing you with that 30-fantasy point upside if he gets hot.

Power Forward
A lot of bigger options here, my strategy is to load up at the four.
Kevin Love is my top play tonight, the Lakers are allowing the third most fantasy ppg to the four, while Love is averaging over 45 fantasy ppg over his last three. I would not be shocked though if both him and James rest another game tonight.
The only other Warrior I am using tonight right now besides Thompson, is Draymond Green. Portland is allowing the most fantasy ppg to the four, and Green on any night can drop huge numbers for a deflated price.
Trying to choose between Kristaps Porzingis and Paul Millsap tonight, is like trying to choose between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, very difficult, why? I love them both. They are each in decent matchups while finding themselves in great offensive positions to put up major fantasy points.
Jon Leuer is like catching trying to catch lightening in a bottle, but, when he is hot, he is hot. The Pacers allow the seventh most fantasy ppg to the four while Leuer is averaging over 30 fantasy ppg in his last two.

Center
Karl-Anthony Towns is the only center on the slate who can drop 70 fantasy points, and has. Towns is a great way to gain maximum exposure to this game without paying for Harden.
Dwight Howard finds himself in a great matchup versus Charlotte. He is averaging over 40 fantasy ppg in his last four and stung the Hornets in his last contest versus them dropping over 43 fantasy points on FD.
On the flipside of the coin I am going back to the Cody Zeller well, tough match up…or is it? The last time he faced Howard he went off as well putting up 35.1 fantasy points on FD. For $4,900? Why not?
