LEFT WING

Sven Baertschi has been piping hot of the Canucks. Check out the results the last four outings:  four goals and two assists as he’s been a +7 skater. In three of those four outings, he’s also fired at least four shots on net.

CENTER

Derek Ryan scored twice in his last outing, his first points since Christmas. He continues to see at least 15 minutes of ice-time per outing and he has 10 points the last 30 days (5g, 5a).

Jordan Schroeder has three points his last four games and has even seen some time with Eric Stall and Zach Parise. He’s only seen 10 minutes of ice-time once in five games though.

Vincent Trocheck has three goals his last four games, two helpers in that time too, as he’s seeing massive amounts of ice-time (over 21 minutes each of the last five games). Skating alongside Jaromir Jagr certainly has it’s advantages.

RIGHT WING

Sebastian Aho has been skating with Lee Stempniak and Teuvo Tervainen with solid results indeed. He’s produced 10 points his last 12 games (give goals), and that includes four points in five games during which time he’s fired 19 shots on net.

The Canadiens are a mess with seemingly half the team hurt, Alex Galchenyuk is still working his way back from a knee injury and Brendan Gallagher just broke a hand that could cost him eight weeks. Nikita Scherbak will be given a shot at his first NHL game this weekend (Sven Andrighetto is also on his way to the show). A first rounder in 2014, Scherbak has 10g, 10a in 27 games with the Ice Caps. He owns the skills to stick around if he gets off to a strong start.

Timo Meier has just one point in nine NHL games. However, he saw 16 minutes of ice-time in the Sharks last game, and his last five outings he’s taken 12 shots on net. Meanwhile, teammate Kevin Labanc has also seen some production of late as he’s produced a point in 4-striaght games (1g, 3a).

DEFENSE

Karl Alzner has +5 rating his last seven outings. He has only two points in that time, so there is limited appeal here.

Joel Edmonson the last 30 days: one goal, seven assists, 23 shots on net, 32 hits and 17 blocked shots.

Mattias Ekholm is seeing some benefit from P.K. Subban being down. Mattias has handed out three helpers his last five games while seeing at least 22 minutes of action in each outing. Note that two of those assists have come with the man-advantage.

GOALTENDER

He obviously won’t be taking over in Boston, but Zane McIntyre has been called up and he will now serve the role of understudy with Anton Khudobin being sent to the AHL. McIntyre has an off the charts 10-0-0 record with an AHL leading 1.41 GAA and .951 save percentage.

James Reimer has a .952 save percentage his last five outings. He’s merely a caddy for Roberto Luongo but when called upon he’s performed very well of late.
