HITTERS LAST TWO WEEKS

Nolan Arenado has eight homers and 17 RBIs over 15 games. He hit 18 homers last season in 111 games.

Finally. Billy Butler is batting .412 with two homers.

Yoenis Cespedes has eight homers, 18 RBIs and 15 runs scored and is the talk of baseball. In one fewer games Chris Davis has seven homers, 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored. Why don’t we hear his name noted as often?

Brian Dozier is batting .188 with a .253 wOBA.

Jacoby Ellsbury is a wasteland right now. He’s failed to drive in a run while batting .104. His OBP is .140.

Jason Kipnis has finally slowed with no homers, no steals and a .169 wOBA.

David Ortiz has six homers and 16 RBIs in 11 games. He’s a homer and five RBIs away from his first 35-100 season since… oh wait, last year.

Buster Posey has one homer and five RBIs. He’s also hitting .455 with a .556 OBP. His season long average is up to .329 by the way.

Corey Seager has been flat out amazing. The young Dodgers has killed it over 10- games to the tune of a .412 batting average with a homer, seven RBIs and eight runs scored. He’s also walked eight times while striking out just four times leading to a .524 OBP. Kudos to the youngster, though when Jimmy Rollins returns Seager will likely have a time playing daily as Don Mattingly has said that Jimmy Rollins is still the Dodgers’ shortstop.

Yangervis Solarte is batting .373 with nine runs scored.

PITCHING LAST 30 DAYS

Chris Archer is just 2-3 with a 3.11 BB/9 rate. His ERA is 4.30 but he’s been better than that with a 3.26 xFIP over his six starts. Still, not what we’ve grown to expect from him this season.

Jake Arrieta is 6-0 with a 0.62 ERA. Life is grand.

Andrew Cashner has a 1.79 WHIP. Life isn’t fair.

Bartolo Colon is 4-0 with a 2.29 ERA. Life is funny.

Johnny Cueto has an elite 6.00 K/BB ratio. He also has a 7.60 ERA and 1.75 WHIP.

Jorge de la Rosa is only 2-1 but he has an 8.42 K/9 mark and a 2.61 ERA.

Tyler Duffey is 2-0 with an 8.60 K/9 rate. Alas, he’s walked 3.86 per nine, his 0.30 HR/9 rate is not sustainable, and you have to be worried about his better than 80 percent strand rate. At least I do.

J.A. Happ is 5-0. Read that again. Undefeated. Crazy pants. He’s also whiffing 8.51 per nine while walking just 1.17. He has a near Arrieta, I know it’s heretical to say it but look at the number, 0.88 ERA. No idea where this is coming from. Impossible to think it lasts, but there it is.

Wade Miley is 3-1 with a 7.53 K/9 and mere 1.05 BB/9 rate over six starts. His ERA is solid at 3.56 but nothing special.

Jon Niese has a 1.83 WHIP and 1.27 K/BB ratio.

Yordano Ventura is 4-1 with a 2.92 ERA. Also rocking the 11.68 K/9 mark.
