I'm writing like crazy, even if you're not seeing it on the site. What am I talking about? The 2015 Fantasy Alarm Draft Guide is taking shape. An update on that is forthcoming as well as some random thoughts as we approach Christmas.

DRAFT GUIDE UPDATE

The 2015 Fantasy Baseball Draft Guide is going to be epic, or should I say EPIC. I don't know if you know this or not, so here's a sneak peak.

(1) We will be releasing the first fantasy baseball magazine in Fantasy Alarm history. It should hit shelves in the first or second week of February.

(2) We are also doing an online Guide that will include everything in the magazine and of course more. We will be updating the online version on a daily basis right up until Opening Day. At some point in January we should have the online version up and running. Stay tuned.

AROUND THE HORN

Heath Bell singed a minor league deal with the Nationals. Who cares?

Josh Johnson is coming back from a second Tommy John surgery. He signed a 1-year deal for $1 million with $6.25 million in incentives to stay with the Padres. He didn't throw a pitch that mattered last season, but he's worth a bid in NL-only leagues if healthy. Since when did the Padres become the Yankees west?

Jung-Ho Kang of Korea is now property of the Pirates who have the exclusive rights to sign him for 2015. Questions abound about his glove at short, but the dude hit .356-40-117 in just 117 games last year. Would like to see that in the bigs. They have 30 days to work out a deal.

Phil Hughes set an all-time record with an 11.63 K/BB ratio last season. He was rewarded with a new 3-year, $42 million contract extension. That's a lot of cash for a guy who has had two good seasons in his career. You know me, I'm not buying.

Wil Myers in a deal for Cole Hamels? That's a rumor that is making the rounds those the San Diego Tribune's Dennis Lin say that ain't happening. Myers will be the starting center fielder for the Padres on Opening Day.

James Shields is reportedly asking for $110 million over five years. After watching Jon Lester get $155 million from the Cubs over six years that seems reasonable. Shields has made at least 31 starts each of his eight full seasons.

Troy Tulowitzki to the Mets or Yankees? Another rumor picking up some steam, but it sounds like Tulo is very unlikely to take his talents to New York. He's still owed the following the next few years: $20M, $20M, $20M, $20M, $20M, $14M, $15M (or a $4.0M buyout). That's a lot of cash for the injury prone star.

Chase Utley is seeing the Phillies dismantled all around him. At this point though, the 36 year old wants to remain with the club. Still productive when on the field, Utley hit .270 with 11 homers, 78 RBIs, 74 runs and 10 steals last season.

Matt Wieters may or may not be ready to catch on Opening Day after undergoing Tommy John surgery.  Agent Scott Boras says he will be. Boras has never said anything untrue has he?
