I enjoy Vegas. It was pretty neat to be out here to see someone win $2 million dollars from FanDuel over the weekend in the FFFC Championship. There were drinks to be had. A little dancing. Some staring at beautiful women. Some more drinks. Now I'm stuck in the airport which seems to happen every time I fly home to San Francisco (the airlines is making it sound like we might have to take an ark to get home. Newsflash United... the weather is never that bad in California, a fact that was verified when I called my mom who lives there). No matter. Stuck in the airport am I. Some random thoughts, without research follow (it's pretty hard to do research when you're sitting on a 1980's carpet so that you can plug in your computer to get power while two women sit next to you talking about nail polish and doobies).

Chase Headley got 4-years, $52 million from the Yankees. He can get on base and plays solid defense, but he's simply not a great fantasy option. The one time 30 homer hitter simply hits too many rug burners. He'll be fortunate to his 20 homers in 2015. Barely interested in mixed leagues, though in 15 teamers he's not an awful corner infield option.

Why is that kid looking at me while he is breast feeding? Creepy.

Jed Lowrie signed with the Astros. The deal looks like this: $23 million and it includes a $6 million club option (or $1 million buyout) for 2018. He's nothing other than a moderate player in fantasy. Little speed and no average help define who he is. A strong AL-only option, but nothing to see here type in mixed leagues.

Anyone notice that even a saintly person gets angry when their flight is delayed?

The Royals lost Billy Butler to the Athletics (3-years, $30 million). To replace him they went with Kendrys Morales. Why? He's really not that good folks. The 2-year, $17 million deal saves them some cash, but the guy you want in fantasy in 2015 is Butler if you ask this scribe.

I think they should have adult dancers, or at least flamingo dancers at airport. Who would care if they were stuck in the airport then?

The Giants have done nothing this offseason other than finish second to another team with seemingly every free agent on the market. They better do something like add Justin Upton in a trade. I hate the fact that the rumors suggest that the Giants will also have to take on Chris Johnson. My astute analysis on Johnson? He stinks.

Sitting here on the floor and thinking... why are there so many types of suitcases out there? Someone, literally, has a Sponge Bob Square Pants suitcase. Does that come with a lollipop and ice cream?

I got a question today on Twitter about Masahiro Tanaka. What was my level of concern with Tanaka and his elbow? I say high. Spoke to Steve Phillips, former Mets GM, a few months back and he stated, in no uncertain terms, that he felt it was a certainty that Tanaka would need to undergo Tommy John surgery at some point given the nature of his elbow injury. He, and I for that matter, couldn't understand why Tanaka didn't just bite the bullet and have the procedure in 2014. I'm not definitively saying Tanaka will miss a huge chunk of the 2015 season, but I'm also in no one suggesting to anyone to build a staff around him. In fact, he won't be on any of the Oracle's teams in 2015.

Oh, and I did down two Irish Coffee's this morning. It might explain why this is the most cogent piece I've written in weeks.
