Bring it home gals and ladies. This will be the final Daily Trends piece of the season. Hopefully this series, as well as everything we've done here at FantasyAlarm, has helped you to a fantasy championship. If not, hopefully you at least learned a few tricks of the trade that you can employ next year. We'll continue to cover baseball all year round, we aren't leaving you, so make sure you keep checking back with us all offseason. Now on to the matchups for September the 26th.

Mookie Betts had three more hits. Average is up to .294 with an impressive .372 OBP for a rookie.

Travis d'Arnaud has an elbow issue. The good news is that it's nothing major but he will need surgery to remove some bone spurs. The bad news is that the issue will end his season. DA, that name is just too complicated to type out every time, will end the year hitting .242-13-41 over 108 games. Too bad he's done as he was hitting really well in September (.313 over 17 games).

Speaking of catchers...

Yasmani Grandal had a big night Thursday for the Padres as he socked a couple of long balls and drove in five runners. He's been awful this year though hitting .222, completely failing to live up to expectations. He's just been a guy wearing the tools of ignorance.

Billy Hamilton (mild concussion) could be done for the year. If that is the case he'll end the year with 56 steals, 72 runs scored, six homers and 48 RBIs, all numbers I did not expect him to reach this year. However, it's not all good news. Check out that slash line: .250/.292/.355. Perspective. Jed Lowrie (.245/.319/.351) and Dustin Ackley (.245/.293/.396) posted nearly very similar lines. Was anyone happy with their efforts?  As I said all preseason, the jury is still out on Hamilton and if he can really hit.

Jason Hammel allowed one run in six innings to finish the year strong for the Athletics. He posted a 2.49 ERA over his last 50.2 innings. He will end the year with some pretty impressive numbers for a guy who was on waivers in most mixed leagues back in April: 10 wins, 163 Ks, 3.47 ERA and 1.12 WHIP.

Josh Harrison update... three more hits to push his average up to .319. Justin Morneau is sitting at .317 as the duo battles it out for the NL batting crown.

Hiroki Kuroda might be done at age 39 but the guy can still pitch. After his outing last night end ends the year with a 3.71 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 4.17 K/BB ratio. There's obviously going to be a spot for him in 2015 if he wants to keep pitching in the big leagues.

Steve Pearce hit his 21st homer. Some guys have all the luck. Check out that slash line: .295/.373/.560.

Jon Singleton is likely done for the year as the Astros want to give him a break. He is hitless in his last 23 at-bats and that includes 18 strikeouts. The guy has 133 punchouts in 92 games, dreadful, and he's batting .168. At the same time, his .287 OBP is only a few points behind Mr. Hamilton. This is from his Player Profile that was written when he was called up. “When you try to figure out what to do with Singleton you should have names like the following in mind: Ryan Howard, Mike Napoli, Mark Reynolds, Mark Trumbo and Adam Dunn. Don't get to carried away by the hype train – this is a youngster with skills but a ton of questions.” Pretty much dead on.

Howie Kendrick is batting .381 in 21 at-bats against Hisashi Iwakuma

Justin Morneau has always hit Roberto Hernandez, hard. He's batting .316/.409/.711 with four homers and 12 RBIs in 44 plate appearances.

A.J. Pierzynski is batting .333 with a homer over 21 at-bats against Trevor Cahill

Buster Posey is batting .417 in 36 at-bats against Ian Kennedy.

Ben Revere is batting .500 in 10 at-bats against Ervin Santana. Grady Sizemore has a .321 average and four steals against Santana.

Adam Rosales has a homer and .500 batting average over 14 at-bats against Scott Kazmir

Will Venable has gone 8-for-19 against Ryan Vogelsong

Neil Walker has 11 RBIs against Mike Leake and over 45 plate appearances an impressive slash line as well (.289/.404/.474). Josh Harrison is batting .417 with a homer in 12 at-bats.

DISH DISASTERS – Worst Hitting Matchups of the Day

Adrian Beltre just doesn't hit Scott Kazmir well. Over the course of 34 at-bats he's hit .265 with a .412 SLG, well below par for the all-star third sacker.

Marlon Byrd can't hit Ervin Santana. In 36 at-bats he's struck out a third of the time while batting .167. Chase Utley is at .167 (12 ABs).

Coco Crisp has one hit in 11 at-bats against Nick Tepesch

J.J. Hardy is batting .158 in 19 at-bats against Drew Hutchison. Nelson Cruz is batting .167 with seven strikeouts in 18 at-bats while Adam Jones has a .286 OPS over 21 plate appearances.

Starling Marte has a .200 batting average against Mike Leake and he's also struck out six times in 20 at-bats.

Victor Martinez has a .235/.278/.353 line over 18 plate appearances against Anthony Swarzak. Who knew? Torii Hunter is also limping along with a .389 OPS over 18 plate appearances.

Joe Mauer, if he plays, shouldn't be in your lineup. He's hit .256 over 43 at-bats against Rick Porcello.

Alexei Ramirez stinks against Jeremy Guthrie. He's batting .170 with a .512 OPS over 52 plate appearances. Ditto Dayan Viciedo with his .179 average and OBP over 28 plate appearances.

Pablo Sandoval has hit .229 with 10 strikeouts over 48 at-bats against Ian Kennedy. Hunter Pence is at .208 over 23 at-bats. Gregor Blanco is at .182 over 22 at-bats.

Mike Trout has a .174 batting average when Hisashi Iwakuma is on the hill. That covers 23 at-bats. Gordon Beckham is hitless in 10 at-bats.

MOUND MAVENS – Starting Pitchers to Target

Mike Leake tossed seven shutout innings against the Pirates on August 29th. In four matchups this year he's gone 1-0 with a 3.71 ERA and 1.24 WHIP as he's walked only five batters in 26.2 innings. He has a 3.41 ERA and 1.19 WHIP at home over 14 starts this season.

Jonathon Niese is working on 3-straight quality starts while allowing five runs. He's also issued two free passes over four starts as he's posted a, 11.5 K/BB ratio. He pitches on the road against the Nationals, a team he held to two runs recently (September 14th).

MOUND MESSES – Starting Pitchers to Avoid

Trevor Cahill hasn't won in six outings going 0-4. He does have 15 strikeouts in his last two starts at least. Still, he's a mess, hasn't gone six innings in any of his last five outings and has a 6.84 ERA and 1.64 WHIP over 14 home outings.

Hisashi Iwakuma has had a great season. He's a complete disaster at the moment however. He's lost his last three outings. It's way worse than that though. Over his last six outings he has a 9.12 ERA and 1.75 WHIP. Can't put him out there on the road in Toronto.

Scott Kazmir has worn down, completely. Over his last six starts he's gone 0-4 with an 8.58 ERA, 1.87 WHIP and 4.45 BB/9 ratio. He faces the Rangers on the road. They scored six runs off him over 4.1 innings back on September 16th.

Rick Porcello has a 4.05 ERA in three starts against the Twins this year. He has a 4.19 ERA at home. In two of his last four starts he's failed to last four innings. Over his last five starts he's 0-4 with a 4.88 ERA and 1.77 WHIP.

Michael Wacha has not won in three outings since he returned to the hill. He hasn't gone five innings in any outing and in that time he's posted a 6.17 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and seven strikeouts in 11.2 innings. He faces the D'backs on the road.
