Friday the 12th of September is a good day. Why? Because there is baseball, and loads of it. Part of our charter at Fantasy Alarm is to cover the news that is relevant to success in fantasy sport. To that end, let me direct you to the batter versus pitcher information that you will be able to access in this piece as you prepare to set your lineups for Friday.

* NOTE: Players are listed in alphabetical order for the sake of making them easily sortable/findable. The matchups are also generated based on Batter vs. Pitcher data.

DISH DIAMONDS – The Best Hitting Matchups of the Day

Hunter Pence has had a strong year. He's also hit .429 with six RBIs against Hyun-Jin Ryu over 21 at-bats.

Cliff Pennington comes out of nowhere to go 7-for-13 against Eric Stults. Boom.

Carlos Santana, say it with me, is 6-for-15 against David Price. He has two RBIs.

Moises Sierra has 16 at-bats against Phil Hughes. He has produced a .500 average, a homer, and five RBIs.

Scary time but... B.J. Upton has nine hits in 19 at-bats against Derek Holland. That .474 average includes a homer.

Ben Zobrist has six hits in 10 at-bats with four RBIs against J.A. Happ. James Loney has six hits as well though he's needed 13 at-bats (.462).

Mark Reynolds is hitless in 10 at-bats against Mat Latos. Lyle Overbay is 2-for-14 (.143). Meanwhile Scooter Gennett (.176 in 17 at-bats), Jonathan Lucroy (.167 in 18 at-bats) and Ryan Braun (.167 in 24 at-bats) also stink.

Pablo Sandoval has hit .200 with no RBIs over 20 at-bats against Hyun-Jin Ryu

Fantasy Alarm Lineups

Batter Versus Pitcher

Daily Projections – For every single day of the season.

MOUND MAVENS – Starting Pitchers to Target

Carlos Carrasco is money right now. Over 48.1 innings in the second half he's struck out 50, walked just seven and posted a 1.49 ERA and 0.91WHIP. The Twins don't stand much of a chance, do they? I mean dude has allowed, get this, three runs over six starts. Three.

Jason Hammel has righted the ship. He faces the Mariners on the road Friday and two starts ago he held the Mariners to one run over eight innings. He's also allowed a total of four runs over his last three starts, each having gone at least 6.2 innings. He's also struck out 18 batters while walking only three.

So good, I'm posting it again.

Kyle Lohse has a 3.00 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in three starts against the Reds this year. In 11 starts at home he's posted a 2.72 ERA and 0.95 WHIP. We'll overlook the 12 runs he's allowed in his last two starts... barely.

Jose Quintana has a 3.66 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 13 home starts. He's faced the Twins three times this season with a 2.00 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 19 Ks in 18 innings.

Yordano Ventura faces a beat up, reeling Red Sox squad looking to avenge his beating back on July 20th (6 ER, 4.1 IP). Since then Ventura has thrown 8-straight quality start and in his last six outings he hasn't allowed a single homer. Solid is as solid does.

MOUND MESSES – Starting Pitchers to Avoid

Henderson Alvarez takes on the Phillies in Philly. In 13 road starts he has four victories a 4.09 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. He's also coming off a start in which he had to leave with an oblique issue. Oh yeah, he's also allowed 13 runs over his last 14.2 innings. Good luck.

Dillon Gee faces the Nationals, a club that is tied for 7th this season in homers against righties. Over his last 10 starts Gee has permitted 11 homers. He's also gone 2-6 as his ERA has gone from 2.56 to 3.74 on the year during that stretch. The game is in New York.

Go to sleep, wake up speaking another language.

Adam Wainwright has a 1.82 ERA and 0.99 WHIP on the road this season. He will face the Reds in Cincinnati. Still, he's been league average since the Break with a 4.29 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 10 outings while going 5-5. Particularly troubling are his 2:1 K/BB ratio and mere 5.77 K/9 mark.

Allen Webster – pitching machine. In eight starts he has a 6.47 ERA and 1.61 WHIP. He faces the Royals on the road.

C.J. Wilson faces the Astros. Two starts ago they beat him for eight hits and five runs over just 3.1 innings. They also bashed him for seven hits, including three homers, and six runs over 4.1 innings back on July 4th. You don't want Wilson anywhere near your lineup.
