Quite a few familiar names on this list. Of course there are, because those guys are elite playmakers that deserve this type of recognition. After the top three guys on here, it gets interesting because Stefon Diggs has been a target hog in recent weeks, while Amari Cooper is the next receiver to face a below-average Carolina secondary. You can’t go wrong with any of these guys, because the fact remains that they will get it done this week.

Everyone loves a good top five piece, but it’s even better with some turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes. Happy Thanksgiving and best of luck this week.

Here are the top 5 wide receivers for Week 12 of the NFL season.

Antonio Brown @ IND

Brown’s 11.4 targets per game trail only Tampa Bay’s Mike Evans on the season. Brown has tallied double digit targets in five of his last six games and he’s one of the toughest receivers to slow down in all of football. Indianapolis is dealing with injuries and they rank dead last in pass coverage, which gives Brown an incredibly high-ceiling later tonight.

Odell Beckham @ CLE

The Giants are running a rather conservative offense that hasn’t let Manning push the ball downfield all that much of late. Cleveland’s defense sucks—for a lack of better words—and Beckham should have his way with that atrocity of a defense. He’s averaging 9.8 targets per game and you can feel comfortable locking him in as a WR1 this week.

Julio Jones vs. ARI

Jones has 18 receptions for 246 touchdowns and one score in his last two games. He’s one of the hardest receivers to cover in the National Football League and Arizona’s Patrick Peterson has his hands full in Week 12. Jones will be shadowed out wide, but should escape Peterson’s watch when he lines up in the slot. He’s a WR1 on a weekly basis.

Stefon Diggs @ DET

He’s dealing with a knee injury, but barring anything abnormal, he’ll be out there on Thanksgiving day. He’s been targeted 49 times in his last four games, hauling in 40 of those passes. He hardly finds the end zone, but when you’re getting the volume of work he is, he’s still useful without sniffing the end zone. Diggs should burn this Detroit defense and put up WR1 numbers on turkey day. [Editor’s Note: The latest reports from Adam Schefter have Diggs not playing Thursday]

Amari Cooper vs. CAR

Cooper continues to get plenty of work in the passing attack and he scored his third touchdown on the season last Monday night against the Houston Texans. Cooper is receiving just under one-quarter of the team’s targets and he gets to go up against a Carolina defense that has allowed 19 touchdowns through the air. Cooper is a WR1 this week.
