It’s been a great two-day stretch for me, because I feel like all I’ve done is talk fantasy sports or do things that are fantasy sports related. Yesterday, I finished my article for our NFL Draft Guide which will be available August 4 here at Fantasy Alarm—make sure you get that by the way—and recorded a podcast. Today, I get to write my Category Impact piece!

Anyway, this article features four hitters who you should consider adding to your team. Trea Turner is the real deal, while Adonis Garcia is seeing a beach ball at the plate in Atlanta. Howie Kendrick can’t get out in July and David Peralta is finally healthy out in Arizona.

@ColbyRConway on Twitter. You know the deal.

Trea Turner, OF WSH— Turner has been giving the team a much-needed spark from the top of the order, yet manager Dusty Baker wants to keep Ben Revere involved. If Baker let Turner run away with the gig, Turner could become a big-time fantasy factor down the stretch. In just 13 games this season, Turner has slashed .333/.382/.510 with seven runs scored, six extra-base hits, seven RBI and six stolen bases. His batting average will come down in time, but the speed is legitimate and the big bats behind him will allow him to rapidly increase his runs total. Turner hasn’t walked a ton, but he’s getting on base at an effective clip and he needs to be rostered in all formats. This kid is legit.

Adonis Garcia, 3B ATL— Garcia has hit safely in 10 of his last 12 games, recording multi-hit contests in six of them. Simply put, he’s one of the hotter hitters in baseball right now and he’s a really good NL-only option at the moment. He’s also serviceable in deeper mixed league formats, but those of you in eight- and 10-team leagues can leave him on the waiver wire for the time being. Over the last two weeks, his 185 wRC+ and .447 wOBA are 13th best in all of baseball. Garcia is practically seeing a beach ball up at the plate and he’s making good contact with the ball. This sort of stretch is far from sustainable, but he could fill a need for your team right now by boosting your hits and batting average while he is red hot.

Howie Kendrick, OF LAD— Another wOBA and wRC+ darling over the past two weeks has been Howie Kendrick. His 192 wRC+ and .453 wOBA are 11th best in all of baseball during the last two weeks, which has helped pushed his batting average up to .273. July has easily been his best month and it’s not even close. For the month of July, Kendrick has slashed .365/.443/.576 with three home runs, nine doubles, 15 runs scored and 10 RBI. The hot month of July helped keep his bat hot and he’s showed no signs of slowing down. He has eligibility at a few different positions, so outside of solid production, he offers some lineup flexibility.

David Peralta, OF ARI— Yes, Peralta has only played in 42 games this season, but I’m baffled as to why his ownership percentage is below 40 percent in ESPN fantasy leagues. If you couldn’t wait out the injury, so be it, but now that he’s back, he needs to be rostered in the majority of fantasy leagues. The Arizona outfielder hit .312 last season with 17 home runs, 26 doubles, 10 triples, 78 RBI and nine stolen bases. Peralta is a quality fantasy asset that can make a splash these last two or so months of the season. As long as he can stay healthy, he should be a serviceable OF3 the rest of the fantasy season. He will likely get some regular off days to ensure that he can stay healthy, but when he does get out there, he is going to produce.
