It’s Saturday and you know what that means. Make sure you do your research for your daily lineups, but don’t neglect your season-long team. These three players are guys who can help your team now and have plenty of potential moving forward. Cleveland’s Tyler Naquin has been seeing the ball extremely well, while Boston’s Sandy Leon is providing some much needed spark from behind the plate. Angels reliever Cam Bedrosian is quietly putting up quality numbers and could be in line for some saves down the road. Many fantasy league trade deadlines are approaching, so make sure you are making the right moves now to help make you a buyer instead of a seller at the deadline.

Tyler Naquin, OF CLE— Naquin was a guy at the beginning of the year who many people thought could burst onto the scene in Cleveland. Well, he struggled early on, causing many owners to move on and drop him. Well, since the start of June, he’s hitting .327 with 12 home runs, 27 RBI, 22 runs scored and three stolen bases. He put his abilities on full display three days ago when he homered twice and drove in six runs against the Kansas City Royals. Naquin may have just five hits in 20 at-bats against lefties this season, but he’s only punched out twice and four of his five hits have gone for extra bases. When a right-hander is on the mound, Naquin is hitting .333 with all 12 of his home runs, six doubles and four triples. He has no major glaring split disadvantage and as long as Cleveland continues to give him regular at-bats in the lineup, he is worth starting in most fantasy formats.

Sandy Leon, C BOS— Leon has made it extremely clear that Boston needs him behind the plate more often than not. In 23 games this season, Leon is slashing .435/.473/.725 with three home runs, 13 runs scored and 15 RBI. Among catchers with at least 20 plate appearances in the month of July, Leon’s .410 batting average is second, his .485 wOBA and 213 wRC+ ranks third. The Boston catcher is adding yet another productive bat to that lineup, which is scary for every other team in the league. Leon will regress at some point, but he’s showing no signs of slowing down right now. That .529 BABIP will come back down to Earth at some point, but at a shallow position, Leon is a breath of fresh air. Many catchers have struggled this season and plenty of fantasy teams are getting lackluster production behind the plate, so with that in mind, go add Leon to your fantasy team before someone else does.

Cam Bedrosian, RP LAA— In 35 innings this season, Bedrosian is sporting a 1.03 ERA, 9.77 K/9 and 1.09 WHIP. His HR/9 of 0.26 is excellent and his role is only going to grow in the Los Angeles bullpen. The right-hander has been exceptional this season and he’s most certainly a dark horse candidate in the team’s bullpen for saves the rest of the way. He holds opposing teams to a .236 batting average when runners are on base, and that mark drops to .214 when someone is in scoring position. Lefties are hitting .246 off him, while right-handers are hitting a measly .186, so Bedrosian has been successful against both. Bedrosian, the Angels’ 29th overall pick in the 2010 Amateur Draft, has been successful with his fastball, slider and cutter this season, holding opponents to a .231, .209 and .167 batting average respectively. Even if it takes a while for him to get save opportunities, he will certainly improve your ratios.
