Another week means another opportunity to sit in judgment of Jeff Mans!  I have poured over Jeff’s rankings and opinions and, well, let us see how he did.  Oh, and as usual, I will pepper this piece with a few of my own masterpieces and pieces of [use a word for dung] from the past week.

Here is the 2015 Week 15 edition of Right, Wrong or Indifferent:

RIGHT

Jordan Reed:  Maestro Mans was dead on when he penned:  “Reed is always one of my favorite TE plays every week. Kirk Cousins loves Reed as he is by far his favorite target this season. Cousins plays much better at home which leads to better numbers for Reed. He is averaging six catches, 60 yards & 0.72 TD's per game at home.”  If you followed Mr. Mans here, you did quite well.  The Washington TE reeled in seven passes for 74 yards and two TD.  Is there any doubt Reed is in your lineups when WAS squares off against PHI next week?  There shouldn’t be.

Charcandrick West:  Mr. Mans was spot on regarding the resurgence of Todd Gurley.  Jeff wrote: “West is severely underpriced on FanDuel this week. Spencer Ware is banged up with a rib injury and is questionable to play this week. If Ware is out, West could easily be a top-five producer against the Ravens. The Chiefs generate the fifth most rushing yards per attempt this season and second most over the last three weeks. Obviously if Ware goes then West is far less valuable. But he will still be the lead dog for the Chiefs' backfield and has a very strong chance at returning 2x-3x value still.”  Yes!   85 total yards, two receptions and a TD means Jeff was right on.  With the Browns on deck, West will be on this list again next week.  Pencil him in with confidence.

Tyrod Taylor:  Jeff is looking good here as he continues to show the love to Tyrod Taylor: “Taylor is the perfect mid-tier cash game QB this week. He sets such a nice baseline for himself due to his dual passing and rushing ability. Even in his worst game he'll return a 2x on his salary. The Bills have the fifth most total yards over the past three games and Taylor is responsible for 72 percent of that production.”  The 235 passing yards and two TD are nice but when combined with the 79 yards rushing, they amount to a very strong fantasy day.  All that said, the Dallas D awaits and they are the best unit no one talks about.  Taylor will be very price dependent in DFS in Week 16 and someone to shy away from in your fantasy football Super Bowl if you have another solid choice.

Doug MartinOk, one for me.  I have been preaching that the Thursday night games are trap games.  Teams have so little time to prepare and players so little time to heal.  Thus, the unpredictability is so substantial.  I knew Doug Martin would not perform up to Martin levels (and worse, did not listen to myself!).  Martin failed to score, managed to fumble and sat out the key drive of the game.  91 yards is not horrible by any stretch but 10 fantasy points from your stud RB is not good enough.  I knew it (I just wish I acted on it).  All that said, Martin is a must start in your fantasy football Super Bowl at home against the Bears.

WRONG

AJ McCarron:   Well, now for the other side of the coin.  This Mans prediction hardly came to pass: “I've been watching film on McCarron all week and have to admit that I am impressed with what I see. He looked much more experienced than he is by changing the play call at the line of scrimmage three times and flashing an ability to avoid pressure and scramble for yardage. The Bengals still have a lot of weapons on offense and McCarron should be able to utilize those this week against the 49ers.”  192 yards and one TD is not getting it done in the fantasy playoffs.  With Denver next up all I can say is:  NEXT!

Adrian Peterson:  I think Jeff got twisted around a bit when he wrote: “Peterson is the NFL's leading rusher and historically crushes the Chicago Bears. The Vikings are well rested coming into this game having not played since last Thursday. The Bears could be without LB Pernell McPhee again this week. Chicago has given up the second-most yards per rush attempt over the past three games.”  63 yards rushing, nothing receiving, no TD, no good for fantasy.  The solution is right around the corner as the Vikes get the Giants next week.  As long as that ankle is OK, All Day is plug and play in Week 16.

Lamar Miller:  Jeff booted this grounder when he said:  “I hate that I simply have to use Miller again this week. The Dolphins have an unbelievable desire to hold Miller down week after week. The Dolphins are third in the NFL in rushing yards per attempt yet are dead last in rushing attempts. The Chargers surrender the second most rushing yards per attempt this season.”  12 yards rushing and 12 yards receiving does not equal 24 yards, it equals YUCK YUCK YUCK.  There is no reason for all the Miller hate that appears to exist in the Miami play calling -- but there is no denying that it does exist.  If you play Miller next week you are far braver than I.

LeSean McCoy:  In all fairness, I have to look in the mirror and scold myself at least once.  I really thought McCoy would have a big day against Washington.  He did not.  37 total yards, only one catch and no score will end up costing a lot of people their fantasy playoffs.  He sits for me next week against the Cowboys and Sean Lee unless I really have no other options.

INDIFFERENT

Jeremy Maclin:  Jeff noted: Maclin is just a strong mid-tier WR option this week. He is averaging 10 targets, eight receptions, 108 yards and one TD over the past three weeks. The Ravens have given up the second most fantasy points to WRs this season.”  Seven catches for 50 yards and a TD is hardly something to sneer at but it is not a huge day either.  Call it a tie and move along.  You own him, you play him in Week 16 season-long.  For DFS, it will be a very price dependent question.

DeAngelo Williams:  Jeff was pretty high on DWill:  “It's a tough matchup for sure but this Steelers offense centers around running and passing the ball to the RBs. The volume will be there for Williams and he should be able to return us 2x value despite this tough matchup.”  Only 56 yards does not get it done but that TD saved him from landing in the “wrong” column.  DWill needs to produce more to be worth his price tag in Week 16.

I am going to replace the last “indifferent” with this note – week after week I hunt for items to include in the Wrong and Indifferent sections of this column.  The reality is that Jeff Mans misses the mark so few times that it is tough to find mistakes.  Yes, he makes them but rarely.  Remember that when deciding who to read and on whom to rely next week.

Ok, let’s use what we learned and win in Week 16.  Good luck!
