Just a few quick thoughts on tonight's slate...

San Jose has the highest implied total of the night in Vegas, so Sharks are good spot to start when building your cash lineups. San Jose's top line/top PP unit obviously has the most firepower, and if/when you can afford their big guns, feel free to do so. Shot machine Brent Burns is a great option if you can afford him, and he's a lot easier to fit in on FD where the pricing is softer. Patrick Marleau is also a way to get some cheaper exposure to the top line as he joins Thornton and Pavelski on the top line and top PP unit. From a matchup perspective, San Jose's second line may be in a better spot than the top line. Brassard and Stone on Ottawa's top line are good possession players, and San Jose has gone top line vs. top line in recent home games. As a result, the second line may have the puck more when they're on the ice. Joel Ward from that second line sees PP work on the second unit and is a nice value. Ward is joined on the second PP unit by Marc Edouard-Vlasic who is a cheaper alternative to Burns, especially on DK. In net Martin Jones is a solid option with the Sharks being about a -200 favorite. He's priced much more favorably on FD than DK.

The teams with the next highest impled totals are Anaheim and Minnesota. Anaheim will host Carolina who has a second line that's solid in the possession game. Anaheim tends to let their top line, centered by Ryan Getzlaf, play against opposing second lines, while Ryan Kesler's line handles opposing top lines in home games. That means it's Kesler's line who may have the better matchup tonight. Kesler himself is a nice option as he plays up on the top power play unit with Getzlaf/Perry. Cam Fowler is also an option as a defenseman on that top unit.

As for the Wild, they'll be in Toronto where the matchup to avoid, if there is one at all, is Auston Matthews' line. Matthews' line tends to draw the opposing second line in home games, so Minny's top line is the play for the Wild tonight. Charlie Coyle and Eric Staal play on that top line and the top PP unit, while Nino Niederreiter plays on the second PP unit. Coyle is priced better than Staal and thus the best choice from the top PP unit. As mentioned, Matthews' line should match up with Minny's second line, which is Minnesota's weakest possession line, so Matthews is also an option this evening. He's priced much better on FD than DK.

Those are the main teams to focus on this evening, but if there's one other team from which to roster players, it's probably Washington. For one thing, Braden Holtby is an option in net on DK where he's only $100 more expensive than Jones. As for skaters, Justin Williams should be in a nice spot tonight on a line with Ovechkin and Kuznetsov. The guess is that Nicklas Backstrom's line draws the very tough matchup against Boston's top line, which should free Ovi's line up for better matchups. Williams is priced very well for the spot he's in, and he's also likely to be on the top PP unit.
