Point Guard

T.J. McConnell will likely be 75 percent owned in cash, if not more. He’s a must-play in cash games and he’s certainly worth a look in tournaments despite the high ownership. Sergio Rodriguez has already been ruled out for tonight so McConnell will likely start.

If you’re looking for both consistency and upside, few are better than Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak has scored over 45 fantasy points in 16 of his last 17 games… yeah, he’s that good. He has 65 point upside and well worth a look tonight against the Wolves.

Even with Dwight Howard back in the lineup, Dennis Schroder is still a solid tournament option. His price has finally come back to Earth and while he’s not one of my top options tonight, I’ll have some exposure for sure.

It feels like Tyler Johnson always does well when no one picks him. If Dragic sits, his numbers hardly increase. Last night, Dragic played and TJ dropped 40 fantasy points. Dragic may sit tonight, but Johnson remains a great option at $5,400.

Shooting Guard

Nik Stauskas will also be the chalk with the Sixers backcourt being destroyed by injuries. I’ve been fooled by Stauskas before, but at $3,000 there’s nothing wrong with rostering him against Denver. He’s relatively safe, but his stat set doesn’t suit DFS very well. If he’s not hitting shots, you’re in trouble.

Sean Kilpatrick is worth considering in cash games with Jeremy Lin on the shelf. Kilpatrick has had his fair share of duds, but when Jeremy Lin is on the shelf, the Nets rely heavily on him. He’s a fine play today.

The minute monster, Zach Lavine, is always an option because he’s almost a lock to play 36-38 minutes. Thibodeau has been running Lavine into the ground and that’s perfect for us DFS players. He’s struggled over the last three, but his price has dropped and I’ll have exposure to Lavine.

Small Forward

Carmelo Anthony has rarely found his way into my lineups this season, but tonight could be the night where he’s a staple in cash games. The Pelicans have actually been a bit tough on SFs, but that doesn’t worry me one bit. He’s just $7,300 and he’s one of the safest options out there.

Robert Covington is also in consideration today, as the entire Sixers team should be on your radar. RoCo was 0-11 from the field yesterday, thus making him an intriguing tournament option. Denver is one of the worst teams in the league in terms of fantasy points allowed to SFs and RoCo needs to be in a few of your GPPs.

The rest of the SF plays are unattractive, but Tobias Harris stands out as a potential option for either format. He’s actually played much better in his bench role and his minutes have hardly changed. He’s scored over 35 fantasy points in three straight games and it’s time to roster him while he’s hot.

Power Forward

Anthony Davis’ price uncharacteristically dropped $600 and I’ll be all over AD tonight. The Pelicans and Knicks game should be one of the higher scoring games of the night and Davis at $10,500 is just too cheap to fade.

Karl Anthony Towns is the other top big man of the day. He has huge upside like Anthony Davis but he comes at a much affordable price. The Bucks have been bad against big men so KAT should feast tonight.

KAT’s frontcourt mate, Gorgui Dieng, is also in play tonight. The Bucks frontcourt is not sound on the defensive end and we can take advantage of that. Dieng is one of the more inconsistent players in the league, so rostering him can be a nightmare. He’s coming off two solid games and  he’ll look to keep it going in a favorable matchup.

I hate to go back to the Sixers well, but it’s necessary. Joel Embiid is still dominating and he’s one of the best cash game plays at the PF/C position against the Nuggets. It’s tough to roster him in tournaments while playing 27 MPG, but he’s a viable cash option due to hiss consistency.

Center

Nikola Jokic is every DFS player’s ideal play… when he plays 30 minutes. Otherwise, you want to kill the guy. He either plays 30-plus minutes and annihilates everyone in his path or he gets three fouls in two minutes and you’re bashing your head into a wall. Against the Sixers, he’s my favorite GPP option at the center position.

Brook Lopez needs to be in some lineups tonight. DK players need to utilize the utility spot to match Lopez-Jokic because they’re both under $7k and have combined 100-point upside. Lopez dropped 46 fantasy points on the Wizards in their last matchup and he’s worth a look today as well.

Now if you’re looking for more of a cash play, Marcin Gortat may be your guy. He’s been inconsistent as of late and that’s a red flag. However, the Nets have been the worst team in the league against opposing centers (per FantasyLabs) and he’s a safe bet for 5-6x value.

Andre Drummond has a tough assignment against Dwight Howard and his recent struggles make him a tough buy. Luckily, he has immense upside and we can play him in GPPs. I wouldn’t touch Drummond in a cash game, but have some exposure in GPPs because he should be very low owned.
