Point Guard

Deciding between James Harden and Russell Westbrook will be extremely difficult today and I’ll likely run lineups with both. Westbrook is coming off two monster games and he will keep it going against the Pelicans. They’ve been bad against PGs and Westbrook will annihilate them.

James Harden faces the Suns who give up even more fantasy points to point guards than the Pelicans. Harden has a much lower ceiling than Westbrook, but he should be lower owned. In the case that westy has a bad game and you have Harden, you’re ahead of the pack. For the record, it’s Westy>Harden for me.

Giannis Antetokounmpo faces the Cavs again today and he should be on a lot of people’s radars. Few players can go 5/13 from the field and get you 55 fantasy points, but The Freak can.

Damian Lillard is fairly cheap tonight at $8,400 and he’s a great pivot off the big guns that I just listed. Lillard obviously carries more risk, hence listing him as a GPP pivot.

 Shooting Guard

On a slate like today, we need value. Iman Shumpert could be the savior today. It’s unclear if the Cavs plan on resting anyone, but Shumpert should see a few extra minutes in J.R. Smith’s absence.

Bradley Beal will be heavily owned tonight and for a good reason. Beal has a very high floor, but he also has a ceiling around 50. The Bulls are mediocre against SGs, so this isn’t a cupcake matchup by any means.

Kent Bazemore is back into the starting lineup and he’s looked good the last two games. If Dwight Howard sits, Bazemore would see a slight boost. The matchup against the Wolves isn’t the greatest, but he’s worth a look today.

C.J. McCollum is on my radar today against the Mavs. They’ve surprisingly held their own against opposing SGs, but that’s why I like McCollum in GPPs. He should be fairly low owned and he’s a great pivot off of Beal.

Small Forward

If LeBron suits up, he’s obviously worth a long look. Anytime LeBron James is under $10k, I typically target him in my cash games. The Cavs played the Buck last night and the game went to OT, so there’s a chance he rests.

Rudy Gay has a terrible matchup against the Jazz, but he’s finally back. The Kings have been missing players for weeks now, and after last night’s game, it’s clear the Kings need help. DeMarcus Cousins dropped 55 pts and they still barely won.

The least sexy option of the day is Harrison Barnes. He should hit 5-6x value today against Portland, but everyone hates playing him. He’ll rarely score over 40 fantasy points even when he has a good game, but his floor is solid.

Jabari Parker is the more exciting, higher ceiling option to Harrison Barnes. Parker will be higher owned than Barnes, but that’s about the only downside for him.

 Power Forward

DeMarcus Cousins is coming off a monstrous 82 fantasy point game and oddly enough, his price actually dropped $1,300! It makes sense as the prices were made before yesterday’s game and the Kings are facing the stout Jazz frontcourt.

Anthony Davis is $1,000 more than DMC, but few will pay that premium for Davis. If you’ve played Davis over the last five games, you’re likely sick of him. He hasn’t been very good, but this Thunder and Pelicans game is one to target and he should be better than he was last night.

My favorite value play of the day is Jon Leuer. Leuer has played extremely well this year and he may even enter the starting lineup. If he sees 30 minutes, he’s a must play and if he enters the starting five, that’s where he’ll likely be.

If Dwight Howard sits again, Paul Millsap will be in nearly all of my lineups. Millsap shifted to the center spot last game and he thrived in that role. The Wolves are actually much worse against opposing centers, so not only is Howard’s absence better for Millsap’s usage but it may also improve his matchup.

Center

Mason Plumlee exploded for 57 fantasy points last night and few saw that coming. I hate to chase points but I think he’s a fine cash option today against the Mavs. I’m expecting 28-33 fantasy points and I’d be just fine with that.

Karl-Anthony Towns is always an option and he’s been rolling lately. He’ll likely be one of the lowest-owned stars for tonight so he has immense GPP upside against the Hawks.

Rudy Gobert is the safest option on the entire slate. The guy is on fire right now and hasn’t even hinted at slowing down. He hasn’t scored below 34 fantasy points over his last eight games and that shouldn't change against the Kings who were obliterated by Mason Plumlee last night.
