A quick look at the five-game early slate if playing today:

1. The wind is blowing out strong at Wrigley today, giving the Cubs a crazy high total of over seven projected runs.

2. If off the Cubs or even the Reds vs. Lester, the Coors game features Hoffman, who is 0-3 with a 7.20 ERA since his last win, on 7/16, vs. the rookie Sims, who is 0-3, with a 5.71 ERA over his first three starts. Cargo is batting .310 over his last 11 games.

3. I was big on the Indians last night, and it doesn't change this afternoon vs. Gibson. Edwin or Santana works as a great pivot off Rizzo, Freeman, or Reynolds. Gibson has allowed 20 earned runs over last 27 1/3 innings.

4. Cleveland is 8-0 at Target Field, and I prefer Carrasco over Archer today, but both pitchers are in play.

For tonight, we have only five games on the main slate. On smaller slates, it's best to stick more with GPPs or the pick'ems on DK. Crazy to believe the worst team in baseball has the highest-priced pitcher on FD tonight in Nola. The biggest concern tonight is if the five games turn into only four. The weather looks iffy in Pitt currently, and is worth monitoring throughout the day. If playing the pick'ems tonight, tier two is horrible pitching-wise, but the hitting tiers leave it wide-open for stacking a few teams tonight.

Good luck!
