Hitters ----

Play of the Day: Edwin Encarnacion-- With his homer last night, Edwin now has gone dep five times over his current five game hitting streak.  If the weather holds up, Edwin has a great chance to make it four straight games with at least one home run tonight vs Gibson.  Edwin is 6-15, with three homers lifetime off of him.

Top Play: Adrian Beltre-- Beltre is 9-13 lifetime off of Sanchez, and has at least two hits in five of his last six games.  He has three homers, and a .395 avg over his past ten games.  Sanchez has allowed 13 earned runs, and seven home runs over his last nine innings.

Value Play: Josh Reddick- Reddick provides some cheap exposure to the Astros offense tonight.  He is one of four potential Houston starters who have taken Walker deep in the past.  Reddick is 2-6 with a HR off of Walker.  While Reddick has struggled to go only 3-29 through seven games of this road trip, Walker has allowed at least one long ball in each of his past six starts.

Value Play: Kike Hernandez- -Hernandez checks in as a nice value play when he receives his spot start vs a left handed pitcher, which he receives today vs Rodon.  Kike went 2-2 in his July 19th matchup vs Rodon, with both hits going for homers.  He hasn’t gone deep since then, but should have plenty of opportunities again tonight as heavy favorites.

Pitchers ----

Play of the Day:  Yu Darvish--  Darvish and the Dodgers are heavy favorites once again tonight vs the White Sox.  Darvish has won both starts with the Dodgers, allowing just two runs over 12 innings.  The best stat is his 20:3 K:BB ratio so far, as he struck out 10 in both his starts.  Plenty of foul balls held him to only five innings last start, but in a prime spot for another double digit strikeout game up against the White Sox tonight.

Top Play: Carlos Carrasco -- Weather may be a concern tonight for Carrasco, but if it stays clear, Carlos is in a nice spot as a pivot play off of Darvish.  Carrasco has at least 10 K’s in four of his last ten starts, while going under six just twice in that span.

Pivot Play: Cole Hamels-- The 7-1 Hamels will be looking for his third straight win while continue his 18 inning earned run scoreless streak.  Cole is 3-0, with a 2.25 ERA over his last four starts, and facing a Tigers team that is just about done for the season, losing nine of their past 11.  Hamels is 3-2, with a 3.27 ERA over his career vs Detroit.

GPP Play: Jon Gray-- Gray pitches in Coors tonight, but facing a Braves team with a lower than usual Coors Field projected run total.  That’s partly due to Gray being undefeated at home this year.  He is 3-0, with a 3.00 ERA over his four home starts.  What also contributes to this is that last year, Gray went 1-0, with a 0.64 ERA in two starts vs the Braves.  You’ll be able to roster Gray at a lower ownership tonight, which could separate you if the top pitchers struggle on tonight’s smaller slate.
