The final week of the regular season has produced some crazy games so far with 10 of the 15 games played last night producing at least 10 total runs, after 7 of 10 games hitting that mark on Monday. Once again,  this makes playing cash games more difficult at times.  As I said on Monday, this last week may not be about trying to build a bankroll as much as taking a few shots in some gpp’s.  Tonight’s slate poses some weather concerns in multiple places so please keep an eye on that.  For now, the worst concern is the Arizona/Washington game, in which I decided not to include anyone from.  The ball left the bat with some juice in the strong wind at the Cell last night, and look for the Rays and White Sox to produce similar results again if the rain stays away.  Also, the projected players for the Blue Jay’s lineup have seven guys who have homered off Tillman, and a dome game limits any concerns.  PLease note that top players like Rizzo, Donaldson, Trout, Miggy, and others are always in play even though they may or may not be listed below.   Good luck!

Catcher

Cash/GPP Plays:  Gary Sanchez broke out of his 0-12 slump by going deep last night.  He has shown three times already in his short career that when he hits one, there is another one coming the next night.  The issue with Sanchez is both that his price is up there as well as the players around him haven’t been doing much.  Two catchers that have some depth around them are Yasmani Grandal and Russell Martin.  Grandal is 2-6 with a HR off Perdomo, and works well in a late night Dodger’s stack.  Martin would be my cash game selection.  Although he is not one of the seven who have homered off Tillman, Martin is 6-12 with 6 walks off him.

Value Plays:  Pivoting off Sanchez to Brian McCann may end up being the smart move tonight.  He is 4-11 off Buchholz, and if starting, will be low owned.  If targeting the Ray’s, Curt Casali makes for a great punt play.  He took Sale deep last night, and is 1-3 with a HR off Gonzalez.  Same goes for Wilson if in there over Curt as a punt play.

First Base

Cash/GPP Plays:  As mentioned above, top players that are not listed are in play with Edwin Encarnacion topping the list of top priced players I would pay for at first.  Edwin is 17-56 with 3 HR’s lifetime off Tillman.  He is nowhere near as hot a hitter of a Votto or Miggy, but trying to provide some possible lower owned options in nice spots tonight.  Eric Hosmer should provide you with a low ownership. He’s 7-21 with 2 HR’s off Santana, and the Royals should still try to finish strong in front of their home crowd.  On DK, I like the idea of going with Victor Martinez at first.  V-Mart is 11-24 with a HR off McAllister, and on a nice six game hit streak.

Value Plays:  There are a few options at first that provide salary relief with Ryan Howard on FD and Aces, and Mike Napoli on DK.  The Indians should be back to their “A” team after clinching the division the other night.  Napoli is 4-8 with 2 HR’s off Fulmer, and has a great DK price for cash and gpp’s.  Howard may be a chase play after his homer last night, but he also went 3-4 with a homer in his only game vs Foltynewicz, and  four of his last six hits have left the yard.

Second Base

Cash/GPP Plays:  I’m going to try not to overthink second base, and stick to either Matt Carpenter or Devin Travis on my lineups outside of team stacking.  Carpenter went deep last night, and is 6-12 with 2 HR’s off DeSclafani.  Leading off for the Blue Jay’s can produce some big numbers tonight, and hopefully Travis is in that spot.  He’s 3-8 with a homer off Tillman, and in nice position to break out of 0-11 slump.  If not leading off, then will have Carp across the board.  Both are also great plays in their team stacks.  It will be very hard to fade Carp on DK at his price tonight.

Value Plays:  The rest of the players listed at second are best used for their team stacks with Joey Wendle as your punt option if leading off for the A’s.  Meyer is a pitcher you can pick on, and Wendle’s price hasn’t been raised yet.

Third Base

Cash/GPP Plays:  Left the top priced guys off the list even though in play, but believe you can go cheaper tonight with Evan Longoria or Jhonny Peralta.  I’m focusing more on gpp’s tonight so Longoria’s 3-21 slump over the past six games doesn’t bother me too much when looking at the Ray’s tonight.  Like Carpenter, Peralta went deep last night and has taken DeScalfani deep in the past.  His price on DK will make him a popular play tonight.  The possible pivot off either of those two could be Jose Reyes and Javier Baez.  Both have been swinging the bat well, and would lean more towards Reyes if playing cash of the four listed above.  Baez is 2-2 with a HR off Tallion.

Value Plays:  Once again, Peralta is a steal on DK, but on FD, keep an eye on the recently activated Nick Castellanos in a Tiger’s stack.  He’s 7-14 with a HR off McAllister, and had a pinch hit double in his first AB since being back last night.

ShortStop

Cash/GPP Plays:   Brad Miller, Troy Tulowitzki, and Tim Anderson are the three shortstops I’ll be looking at most tonight. To grab exposure to all three, I like Miller on Aces, who had his seven game hit streak snapped last night, but as mentioned, I like the Ray’s tonight.  Tulo is 3-9 with all three hits leaving the yard against Tillman.  His last three hits these last two games have all been doubles, and price is best on FD, but will be targeted in a Jay’s stack.  Anderson’s best value by far is on DK.  He went deep last night, and back to batting second with a healthy Eaton in the lineup.

The pivot play off these three would be Xander Bogaerts.  He went 3-6 with a HR off Mitchell in their first matchup, and feel that others would go Seager at the similar higher price tag.

Value Plays:  Addison Russell is the best you are going to find on FD, with Anderson being my preferred of the choices on DK.  Russell had the day off last night, and should be back tonight.

Outfield

Cash/GPP Plays:  Outfield is pretty loaded tonight with multiple routes to take at similar price points.  Pairing up some OF team tandems can work as nice stacking options with Baltimore and Detroit leading the way.  Adam Jones is 6-18 with 3 HR’s off Liriano, and can be paired with Trumbo.  The Tiger’s OF of Maybin, Upton, and J.D. Martinez are all in play tonight.  Martinez is 6-14 over his past four games, and is more of a personal preference of the Tiger three.

Josh Reddick, Jay Bruce, and Adam Duvall all come with better price tags on FD and Aces over DK.  Reddick went 3-3 with a HR in his only matchup vs Perdomo and is 11-25 over his last seven games.  Bruce went deep last night, but still left many runners on base.  He’s in a nice spot tonight again vs Urena, who he took deep in their first matchup.  Duvall works nice in a Red’s stack as he is 4-10 with 2 HR’s off Leake.  He disappointed many with an 0-4 game last night after a two homer game the night before.

Value Plays:  I’m hoping the players listed below get the start tonight, but if not, there is usually a large amount of value OF options that you can punt with. Kevin Pillar is 8-22 with 3 HR’s off Tillman, and has recorded a single and a run in three straight games.

Mikie Mahtook’s two hit game last night makes him 4-8 in the series. At a near minimum price across the board batting in the middle of the lineup, Mahtook makes for a solid punt option.  Many are starting to think Hunter Renfroe is going to be a major part of the Padre’s rebuild.  Over his last two starts, he has gone 4-8 with a double and three home runs.  He also had a seven RBI night last night. I believe he will be a plug and play on Aces tonight, and a popular late night hammer on the other sites.
