Catcher
Jonathan Lucroy: Disappointed just about everyone yesterday, but going back to Lucroy tonight. Is 6-10 with 2 HR’s vs Simon who is one of my favorite pitchers to pick on.
Evan Gattis: Catcher on FD. Both he and Russell Martin are both near min price on FD. Missed the memo on Houston last night, and tonight’s game may be similar story. Houston will be probably the most popular stack tonight, and playing Gattis opens up salary for the big players you want.
J.T. Realmuto: Nothing wrong with targeting a catcher who also has ability to bat leadoff. It also helps that he crushes LHP as shown again yesterday going 3-4. Makes for great cash game play.
Buster Posey: Posey vs a lefty is always a solid play. Don’t think you need to pay up for him today, but if you want a late night hammer Giants mini-stack, Posey should make your roster.
First Base
Edwin Encarnacion: Like just about every game they play, the Jay’s will be a popular team to target, and I feel Edwin is the top play of the group. He is 5-16 with 2 HR’s vs Holland, as well as zero K’s. Hopefully he will have a few runners to knock in when he homers tonight. If looking for cheaper Toronto exposure, feel free to go back to Justin Smoak tonight. He does have 6 hits over his last three games and much cheaper.
Anthony Rizzo: Like him more on DK and Aces, but Rizzo is a tough fade no matter what righty he faces.
Jose Abreu: On the South side of Chicago, you have a slightly cheaper player that is starting to heat up at the plate. His multi-hit game streak ended at 5 last night, but recorded his first HR in a while, and thinking he accomplishes both tonight.
Adam Lind: First base is stacked tonight with top options, but not many value plays outside of Smoak. Seattle may go lefty heavy tonight, making Lind a viable punt play. Tough to fade top players in cash, but Lind can make for a sneaky GPP target.
Second Base
Jose Altuve: Houston players are going to be popular plays tonight, and think it will be hard to fade Altuve in cash games. He is 7-12 lifetime vs Miley with zero K’s.
Robinson Cano: Cano is my GPP target for 2B tonight. He is facing an unproven righty, has a .456 wOBA vs them this year, and 4 straight multi-hit games.
Daniel Murphy: Has taken Hendricks deep in the past, and has hit safely in 10-11 games including a 4 hit day last game.
Brandon Drury: 3B on FD. Arizona is my sneaky stack play of the night, and if Drury is batting towards the top of the lineup, he makes for a nice punt play. Will only be using him in ‘Zona GPP stacks.
Darwin Barney: SS on FD.: Many stay away from bottom of the order hitters, and there is a good reason why, but it is hard to find cheap exposure to Toronto’s lineup.
Third Base
Josh Donaldson: First, I’m sure that since I’m not rostering Todd Frazier, he goes double dong tonight. Having said that, Donaldson is 7-21 with 3 HR’s vs Holland with only 2 K’s. Tough to fade in cash games, but I’m fading Toronto is GPP’s tonight.
Aaron Hill: I suggest paying up for 3B tonight, but if stacking Brewers, Hill makes for the cheap play Stacking the Brewers and Houston is a nice play tonight with players like Hill priced so low.
Travis Shaw: Not recommending too many 3B today due to Donaldson being a strong play, but Shaw is in a solid spot himself. Riskier pick that hasn’t recorded a hit in the series so far, but need to find a way to separate yourself in large GPP’s. Also like Matt Duffy with a mini Giant’s stack.
Shortstop
Carlos Correa: May be the most popular play tonight after his recent performance. Very close to a must play for cash games tonight, but if not doing a Houston stack, a smart fade in GPP’s.
Xander Bogaerts: Just like Shaw, I feel there is a better option in play with Correa, but Xander has been locked in at the plate lately. Worth a shot if playing multiple lineups, but not a must by any means.
Troy Tulowitzki: Many of you dislike Tulowitki, and sometimes I’m one of them. Problem is though that he bats 5th in a top 3 offense. Only rostering him if using a Jay’s stack, and can make a nice difference if Correa struggles (Big IF tonight).
Jean Segura: Both him and Zack Cozart should be in the leadoff spot for their teams tonight. Segura will be the less popular play, but I like him a bit more tonight. Yes, Conley did not allow a hit in his last start, but think that will not be the case tonight. Segura is 4-6 lifetime vs Conley as well.
Outfield
Hunter Pence: Targeting some Giant’s players can be a sneaky play. I don’t think any of them will be highly targeted, but Pence has a plus matchup vs Rsuin, and can put up points multiple ways.
George Springer: My final Houston player to target. Taking the potential 1-4 hitters can be a boom or bust play, but I don’t mind that play at all tonight. Springer and Gattis are the risks, but Springer has recorded an XBH is three straight games.
Bryce Harper and Michael Taylor: Nationals have been putting up runs as of late without much from Harper until he went deep last night. Thinking he makes it two in a row tonight. If Taylor is leading off, he makes for a nice value option to pair with Harper and possibly Murphy.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Ryan Braun: Deciding which OF tandem to go with is a tough one for me tonight. If stacking Brew crew, then this combo paired with other two Brewers in list gives you their potential 3-4 and 6-7 hitters.
Tyler Holt and Jay Bruce: This combo is much cheaper and the riskier play in my opinion. Bruce is -5 with 4 K’s vs Anderson but has the 2 HR upside. Holt and Scott Schebler depending on lineup will both be viable punt options.
