Everyone loves fantasy baseball player rankings, so in an effort to help with your seasonal league play, we will be rolling out fresh rankings on the first of every month.

Now one of the most important things to keep in mind are that rankings are subjective. These are mine – Howard Bender’s. I have conversed with a number of members of the Fantasy Alarm team, but with final say, I can factor in differing opinions but will ultimately lead with mine. I do not hate your favorite player nor do I factor in certain opinions such as, being a Yankees fan and having a deep-rooted hatred for all things Red Sox (sorry, Boston). I have tried to be fair in my assessments.

You should also understand that these rankings are not simply a reflection of April and May's performances. I have factored that in, but have also included historic track records as well as what I expect each player to do moving forward. Remember, when you’re trading for a player, you’re not trading for stats from the last 30 days, you are trading for them based on what you expect them to do moving forward. It obviously works the same for waivers.

Similarly to last month, we've got some very tough decisions and situation here. We have the retiurn of David Price, Madison Bumgarner is throwing again and, of course, Mike Trout is on the DL for the very first time in his short yet storied career. We also have others who are returning or have returned -- Corey Kluber, Gary Sanchez, Rich Hill, to name a few. Yeah, a whole lot going on here.

So away we go, people. Feel free to fire up some discussion here in the comments section. I’m sure there will be plenty out there who disagree with some of the player rankings, but that’s just the nature of the beast. Just remember…it’s like my granddaddy always used to say – “Opinions are like assholes. Everyone’s got one and most of ‘em stink!”

Go get ‘em!!!
