Final week of the season, folks. Enjoy the DFS fun while you can. Of course, you’ll be able to play DFS games through the playoffs, but we will not be supplying the coaching articles and are unlikely to be doing playbooks or optimal lineups either. But why lament on that when we still have the next five days together here? We won’t. Here’s what Monday is looking like for me:

Overall, not a fan of the slate, but we still have a few workable options.
J.A. Happ, TOR – He’s dominated the Yankees this year to the tune of a 2.39 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP over 26.1 innings and has 21 strikeouts to go with the tasty ratios. Add to that the Yankees bats are pretty cold right now, posting just a .288 wOBA with a 21-percent strikeout rate over the last seven days, and have struggled versus southpaws, and you have a fairly strong play here.
Tanner Roark, WAS – Probably my favorite cash game play today as the Diamondbacks have posted just a .220 wOBA with a .279 slugging percentage, a .100 ISO and a 22.2-percent strikeout rate over the last week. Absolutely atrocious at the plate.
Collin McHugh, HOU – He’s been a bit of a mess at times, but he’s got the Mariners number as evidenced by the 1.08 ERA and 0.96 WHIP over 25 innings this season. It also helps that the Mariners are struggling at the plate right now having posted a .267 wOBA with a 23.2-percent strikeout rate over the last seven days.
Jaime Garcia, STL – His numbers against the Reds this year have been rather pedestrian, but he did toss a quality start against them in early September. The Reds have a 27th-ranked .297 wOBA against lefties all year and have posted a mark of just .278 over the last week.
Martin Perez, TEX – He’s a low-cost GPP play only for me and that’s only because he’s facing the Brewers who have posted a 28.7-percent strikeout rate and .256 wOBA over the last seven days. The strikeout upside is really what this play is all about.
Jered Weaver, LAA – How bad are the A’s? Bad. Really bad. How about a .257 wOBA with a .098 ISO and 21-percent strikeout rate over the past week? Weaver is nowhere near the pitcher he used to be years ago, but is worth a look in this match-up for a buck.
