It’s Monday morning which means it’s back to the grind for many of us. Back to work, back to all the aggravation the world has for us, back to responsibility and “have to” for so many of us. But it’s also back to baseball, baby, and with NFL Sunday in the rearview mirror, it’s back to DFS. So let’s atake a look at today’s pitching slate and see who looks like a tasty option.

Noah Syndergaard, NYM – He’s allowed four runs over his last five starts (34 innings) with a strikeout per inning and three wins to show for it. Now he faces the Braves whose .307 wOBA against right-handers ranks just 25th in the league.

Clayton Kershaw, LAD – His workload has gradually increased since his return and he tossed five scoreless frames with five strikeouts during his second start since returning from the DL. Look for him to go longer into the game, especially with the Giants struggling at the plate lately. Over the last seven days, they’ve posted just a .277 wOBA with a .084 ISO.

Madison Bumgarner, SF – While the Giants offense has been struggling recently, so has that of the Dodgers. They’ve posted a .271 wOBA over the past week with a 23-percent strikeout rate. They also rank dead last with a .276 wOBA against southpaws this season.

Rick Porcello, BOS – With 20 wins on the season, a 3.12 ERA and 10-straight quality starts thrown, there has to be some AL Cy Young buzz for Porcello. He had a bad start against the O’s back in May, but actually just held them to one run over eight-innings of four-hit ball his last time out. While we don’t like using pitchers in their second game of a back-to-back, the Orioles are struggling right now with just a .281 wOBA and 20.2-percent strikeout rate over the past week and you have to give Porcello a look.

Carlos Rodon, CHW – Tough to play the all-day slate, but if you want to try your luck, Rodon makes for the early pitcher you’d want then. The Royals are sitting on a disappointing .280 wOBA with just a .112 ISO and .356 slugging percentage over the past week. In four starts against the Royals this season, Rodon has a 2.28 ERA with 23 strikeouts over 23.2 innings.

Martin Perez, TEX – Now we’re heading into dart territory and Perez is strictly for GPP use. You should be able to get some nice Coors exposure or just some overall big bats if you use him and there’s a strong chance he posts a respectable return value. After all, the Angels’ offense has been in the toilet lately with a .236 wOBA over the last week with a .045 ISO and just a .250 slugging percentage.

Jharel Cotton, OAK – Another dart here as Cotton faces an Astros team that not only has a .272 wOBA over the past week, but also a 24-percent strikeout rate. He may have a tough time with a couple of the right-handed bats, but if he can minimize the damage, he should offer you a strong return value for a GPP.

Braden Shipley, ARI – Last dart for me as it just wouldn’t be right if I didn’t pick on the Padres. Their .285 wOBA and .108 ISO are not at all intimidating and the fact that they come with a 24.3-percent strikeout rate gives me hop for some added points here.
