While the slate is short here on the Thursday, the options are actually quite abundant. Good solid cash game options and a few GPP darts I’m going to enjoy taking a stab at tonight. Here’s a look at the data with my recommendations underneath.

Johnny Cueto, SF – Cardinals are struggling mightily lately, having averaged just 2.5 runs per game over their last six. With a .247 wOBA and 24.2-percent strikeout rate over the past week, Cueto looks like the top cash game play of the day.

J.A. Happ, TOR – Yup. A little piece of me is dying right now, but a start in pitcher-friendly Angel Stadium against a team that has posted a .235 wOBA with a .096 ISO over the last week has me eyeballing Happ once again. The Halos have been barely league average against southpaws all season, so that pushes Happ up the ranks a little more as well.

Blake Snell, TB – The Orioles continue to struggle against left-handed pitching and even though Snell has some trouble containing the right-handed bats, I’ll give him a look here as a second starter on Draft Kings or Fantasy Aces. Baltimore has just a .687 OPS versus lefties with a .297 wOba and a strikeout rate just at 22-percent.

Hector Santiago, MIN – I’m a little leery of this match-up, but Santiago has now thrown three-straight quality starts with a 1.86 ERA over 19.1 innings. The K-rate is a little weak, but the Tigers offense is struggling with a .301 wOBA and just a .139 ISO over the last seven days. It’s a bit of a risk, but his ownership percentages should be low.

Chad Kuhl, PIT – The Phillies continue to sit at the bottom of the league with their .296 wOBA against righties this year, but I’m more eyeballing their complete lack of patience at the plate right now with a 30.2-percent strikeout rate and just a 7.5-percent walk rate. The sub-.400 slugging percentage isn’t exactly intimidating either.

Daniel Mengden, OAK – While he’s on the road, Mengden is still throwing in a pitcher-friendly environment in K.C. where the Royals are just below league-average, offensively. They’ve also struggled big time over the past week with a .262 wOBA and almost no power, as evidenced by the .088 ISO. The 23-percent strikeout rate over that span is a nice, little bonus as well.

Archie Bradley, ARI – OK, strictly a dart here and probably a long shot at best. Bradley has been wildly inconsistent this season, but the Dodgers have been an offensive disaster lately with their .247 wOBA and 27-percent strikeout rate over the last seven days. I’m actually using Bradley on FanDuel in the $1 Squeeze just for shits and giggles.
