Bit of an early start today with the Mets/Cardinals doubleheader but make sure you check what games you’re playing as just FanDuel has Noah Syndergaard and Carlos Martinez available and Draft Kings has left out all pitchers from both teams. That being said, let’s get to it…

Danny Salazar, CLE – I don’t love the match-up here, but in truth, the Nationals have been very average this season, offensively, and good starting pitching can always neutralize mediocre hitting. The price is high and I may only use him on sites where I can use two pitchers, but I’m committed to Salazar in seasonal leagues because I believe in him.
Noah Syndergaard, NYM – When it comes to Syndergaard, injury recovery aside, I use him regardless of the match-up, much like I use a guy like Clayton Kershaw. If you can find some decent bats to play the early slate on FanDuel, I have no qualms about him as my starting pitcher in cash games.
Carlos Martinez/Jaime Garcia, STL – I can lump ‘em together here because when it comes to the Mets right now, lefty/righty doesn’t mean a thing. They’ve been slightly below-average against both all season and over the past week, they’ve posted a lousy .275 wOBA with a 22.2-percent strikeout rate. Both of these guys should excel, though C-Mart might have a tough time wrestling the win away from Syndergaard.
Kyle Hendricks, CHC – Always a question regarding how deep into the game he will go, but the match-up against the White Sox seems too tempting to pass up. Chicago has been swinging the sticks a little better, but the power has still been slightly below-average this past week. Throw them against a righty and the power numbers (ISO and slugging) drop a little, as does the wOBA which sits at .305 for the season.
Doug Fister, HOU – As much as I love my Yankees, their offense has definitely been one to pick on at times this season. This is probably one of those times. I was happy with my Dallas Keuchel call yesterday and will be happy to use Fister today as well. He may not strike a bunch of guys out, but their .281 wOBA and blah .131 ISO over the past week is going to help him go deep into the game and hopefully grab the win as well.
Jerad Eickhoff, PHI – Not a fan and a little on the overrated side, in my opinion, but these Marlins do not look good right now. They’re fanning at nearly a 20-percent clip over the past week, but on top of that, they’ve posted just a .284 wOBA with a disgusting .113 ISO. I believe Eickhoff can get the Fish to fish here.
Marcus Stroman, TOR – Hate using starters at the Rogers Centre, but Stroman’s ground ball rate (62.7%) should help keep those lovable Friars down and out once again. Aaron Sanchez made quick work of them and their .290 wOBA (24.6-percent K-rate) yesterday. Stroman should do the same.
Ervin Santana, MIN – The theme today is to use pitchers I hate normally. Like Santana here, who I hate to recommend for any reason. But the Braves are dead last in the majors with a .285 wOBA against righties this season and they’re also dead last with a .286 wOBA on the road. Even Santana can’t f*** this one up, can he?
Tom Koehler, MIA – If you’re going to use Eickhoff in any way, then you should also counter with a lineup that has Koehler in it. He limited the Phillies to three runs (one earned) over eight innings in his last start and now he brings it home to Miami where he’s only allowed four home runs all year. And yes, the Phillies still rank at or near the bottom, offensively speaking.
Bud Norris, LAD – There’s no nice way to say it so I won’t hold back. Norris sucks. I thought he was pitching way over his head before and his last three starts have been awful, but expected as he’s Bud Norris and he sucks. But if you like to take risks, maybe a GPP flier is worth considering since the Rays have been somewhat inept against right-handed pitching all year. Maybe rationalize that Norris’ last three starts were on the road and he’s now at pitcher-friendly Chavez Ravine. I don’t love it, but given the price, for a buck on FanDuel I might consider it.
