It’s a nice full slate with some pretty solid match-ups and a few where the reward just might be worth the risk. We’ve got one early game today and one that kicks off around 6pm ET so make sure you’re setting the right lineups and playing the right games. Here’s a look at Friday’s data and so forth…

Johnny Cueto, SF – Looking for a big rebound from his last outing and the D-Backs should offer him some reprieve. He’s faced them twice this season allowing a total of five runs over 14 innings with a 12:2 K:BB. Arizona is a solid hitting club, but that 23.5-percent strikeout rate against right-handers can really bite them in the ass sometimes.

Steven Wright, BOS – Another guy looking for a rebound here and should be able to hold his own against an Angels club that doesn’t strike out a lot, but also doesn’t provide a whole lot of power. The knuckleball could be a big factor here as the Angels try to figure him out.

Jason Hammel, CHC – An obvious cash game play here as the Mets are posting a dismal .260 wOBA with a 23.1-percent strikeout rate and .085 ISO over the last seven days.

Tanner Roark, WAS – Well if you’re going to pick on the Mets, you have to pick on the Reds too. Sure, they can show up every once in a while, but over the past week, they’ve posted just a .286 wOBA with a .127 ISO and 22.4-percent strikeout rate.

Ian Kennedy, KC – While the Phillies have been swinging the sticks a little better recently, Kennedy should come out on top and provide solid strikeout totals as well. Philadelphia still ranks right near the bottom of the league with a .296 wOBA against righties. They’re also posting a 21.1-percent strikeout rate against them all year.

Michael Fulmer, DET – The Rays’ .304 wOBA against righties ranks 24th in the league and they’re posting that with a 25-percent strikeout rate which is obviously atrocious. They’re hitting a little better recently, but the consistency isn’t there enough to be concerned.

Sonny Gray, OAK – He’s posted three quality starts over his last four outings, including two back-to-back solid efforts. The Pirates still haven’t pulled themselves out of their recent funk and their .310 wOBA over the last seven days ranks just 25th in the league.

Jaime Garcia, STL – We’re seeing all sorts of struggles from the Brewers lately which should make Garcia a nice play here. They’ve posted just a .311 wOBA with a 23.8-percent strikeout rate against southpaws this season and over the last seven days, that strikeout rate has vaulted to a 28.4-percent mark.

Nathan Eovaldi, NYY – Bit of a GPP dart here as Eovaldi has been disappointing this season, but maybe worth the shot with the Padres still ranking dead last with a .283 wOBA against righties this season. They also sport a 23.8-percent strikeout rate against righties  and with the game at Petco, the Padres isolated power marks remain subpar.

Justin Nicolino, MIA – If you feel like picking on the Braves, I won’t say no to Nicolino as Atlanta still ranks 29th in the majors with a .273 wOBA against southpaws. They did in Wei-Yin Chen yesterday, but for the price here, why not throw a buck into a GPP.

Colin Rea, SD – And speaking of throwing a buck on a guy, how about Rea? The Yankees may not strike out much, but they’ve posted a 28th-ranked .301 wOBA over the past week and have a dismal .120 ISO to bring into Petco Park.
