This was the second player waived by Boston on Thursday. The are cutting down to their final 15 prior to the start of the regular season.

Jalen Jones Headshot

Celtics waived Jalen Jones.

The Celtics are clearing their roster prior to the start of the regular season and Jones was the latest casualty. He will either be picked up by another squad or head to the D-League.

C.J. Fiedorowicz Headshot

Texans have reported that the team is happy with the blocking of C.J. Fiedorowicz.

Fiedorowicz has recently become more involved in the passing game as well, so the Texans are happy on both fronts. He should continue to see the majority of the snaps at tight end on a week-to-week basis.

Anthony Davis Headshot

Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry said Anthony Davis is fine after struck in head by Serge Ibaka.

Does injury just follow Anthony Davis around where ever he goes? Davis always seems to be going down with some type of ailment whether it is his own doing or otherwise. This issue was minor and won't cause Davis to miss any time, but it just adds to the growing list of issues Davis has had over the last two seasons.

T.J. Lang Headshot

T.J Lang (hip) returned to Thursday's game against the Bears.

Lang was checked out and has been deemed healthy enough to return to Thursday's game. He should be fine going forward.

Stanley Johnson Headshot

Pistons exercised their option on Stanley Johnson through the 2017-18 season.

Johnson is the second sophomore player that had his option for next season exercised on Thursday. Though he will enter the season in a reserve role behind Tobias Harris, Johnson should see an increased role this year and does have value in deeper fantasy formats.

T.J. Lang Headshot

T.J. Lang is questionable to return to Thursday's game with a hip injury.

Lang went down with a hip injury and is not being evaluated in the locker room. We will update his status as soon as it is made available.

Brian Hoyer Headshot

Bears head coach John Fox said Brian Hoyer suffered a broken left arm.

This will likely end Hoyer's season and should mark the return of Jay Cutler. The Bears' offense seemed to have more of a rhythm with Hoyer under center, but the offense will now have to accept that Cutler will be the guy once again--at least in the short-term. It's likely that Hoyer will be placed on injured reserve on Friday.

J.D. Martinez Headshot

Tigers are reportedly not interested in pursuing a contract extension for J.D. Martinez this winter.

This is interesting, but it's likely a money issue more than anything else. Since Detroit picked Martinez up a few years back, he has done nothing but smash the ball. Martinez will become a free agent following the 2017 season and if he manages to put together a productive power season, he could be in line for a big payday--just not with the Tigers. Things could certainly change, but at this point it appears as though Detroit is going to move on.

Myles Turner Headshot

Pacers exercised their option on Myle Turner for the 2017-18 season.

The Pacers exercised a $2.4 million dollar option on Turner for next season on Thursday. Clearly, they are happy with what they saw from Turner during his rookie season and expect him to take a big step forward this year. Turner will be the starting center for Indiana in 2016-17.
