Dirk Nowitzki Headshot

Dirk Nowitzki says he turned his right ankle during Thursday's game, but he played through it.

With Dirk being 38, and the Mavs playing Friday night, it would not be a surprise if he sat to rest the ankle. He posted 19 points and four rebounds in Thursday's loss. If he sits Friday, Dwight Powell could see a few more minutes.

Raymond Felton Headshot

Raymond Felton will start Thursday against the Timberwolves.

With Chris Paul out an extended period of time, Felton and Austin Rivers figure to split the point guard duties. At this point, until one pulls ahead, it is unclear who will see the majority of the minutes, but the veteran Felton figures to be the one to bet on early, and is worth an add if he's on your wire.

Brady Dragmire Headshot

Brady Dragmire was designated for assignment.

Dragmire is only 23 so he has plenty of time to figure out how to make it in the majors, but at this point he loses his spot for the newly signed Tyson Ross.

Juan Graterol Headshot

Angels claimed Juan Graterol off waivers.

He will replace Blake Parker who was sent down earlier in the day. Graterol is mainly depth for the organization at this point.

Blake Parker Headshot

Blake Parker was designated for assignment.

With a 4.67 ERA in 2016, Parker figures to be organizational depth wherever he goes. He does not offer much in fantasy.

Eduardo Rodriguez Headshot

Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) won't pitch for Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic.

This is positive news for the Red Sox, as Rodriguez recently tweaked the knee in winter ball. He figures to be ready for Spring, especially now that he is skipping the World Baseball Classic. He will be competing for the fifth spot in the rotation, with Steven Wright being his main competition. Rodriguez still has plenty of upside, but he will need good Spring to win a spot in the Sox rotation.

Jamie Collins Headshot

Browns are close to finalizing a multi-year contract with Jamie Collins.

This makes total sense for the Browns, especially after acquiring him during the season. Collins play was average after the deal, but the shock of going from one of the top franchises in the league to Cleveland would likely do that to any player. He makes for a solid player to build around on defense. For fantasy purposes, he makes their DEF better, but they are still a few playmakers away from being fantasy relevant on a consistent basis.

Evan Fournier Headshot

Evan Fournier (foot) is doubtful for Friday's game.

According to the Magic, Fournier's return from a heel ailment caused him to over-exert the rest of his foot, which caused him to miss Wednesday night, and in all likelihood Friday. Jodie Meeks figures to get most of the run in his absence, and is worth streaming and worth a look in DFS while he is starting.

Luis Valbuena Headshot

Luis Valbuena signed to a two-year deal with the Angels.

Valbuena has always drawn walks and hit for power, but has never been able to hit lefties. He'll provide depth for the Angels, particularly at DH while Albert Pujols recovers from plantar fascia surgery. He's not a target in anything shallower than an AL-Only league.
