The Chicago Bears worked out free-agent RB Darius Reynaud.

He's more of a special teams guys than he is a running back, even as depth, so there's no fantasy value to be had, even in deeper leagues. He'll make the rounds and look for work, but no matter where he lands, his role will likely be the same.

The Toronto Argonauts signed free-agent RB Steve Slaton.

Slaton hasn't been fantasy relevant since 2008 and he wasn't catching on with another NFL team even as a back-up so it's north of the border for him. We wish him nothing but the best in his quest for the Grey Cup and may he enjoy all the free health care that country provides.

The Denver Broncos released T Mike Farrell.

He's a back-up offensive lineman who is easily replaceable. No loss here for the Broncos.

The New England Patriots picked up the fifth-year option on T Nate Solder.

Given the job he does as both a pass and run-blocker, Solder is well-deserving of the $7-plus million he'll get by the Patriots picking up that fifth-year option. He's one of the highest-rated tackles in the game and Tom Brady probably campaigned hard for the team to ensure that he's be in uniform this season.

49ers T Anthony Davis underwent shoulder surgery after playing a season with an injury. A full recovery is expected for 2014.

He actually suffered a torn labrum and had some biceps damage so the surgery was pretty significant. Still a full recover is expected and he'll fill the same role on the offensive line this season and hopefully continue the strong run-blocking that allows the Niners to grind it out on the ground so well.

Eagles running back Chris Polk underwent "major" shoulder surgery this week.

While we're sorry to hear that Polk will undergo major surgery, the fantasy community is not yet lamenting his expected loss. With LeSean McCoy, Darren Sproles and, if they don't trade him, Bryce Brown on the roster, Polk wasn't in line to touch the ball much out of practices.

Dwayne Allen (hip) said today he has been cleared to participate in all activities.

While he received clearance, Allen is still probably doubtful for OTAs next month. But that's okay so long as he's ready for camp. He's a solid blocker and a quality pass-catcher as well, so the 2-TE formations for Andrew Luck could prove to be very beneficial for both Allen Coby Fleener as well as for fantasy owners.

Cecil Shorts is still dealing with the effects of groin surgery and is not yet at 100 percent.

The good news is that there is still plenty of time for Shorts to get to that 100-percent mark. The bad news is that he's been hurt now for two straight seasons and he's apparently a slow-healer. If the Jags could ever have their whole receiving corps healthy or not-suspended at the same time, who knows how good they could be. We'll just sit back and hope for the best and if he truly is ready fro the season, he could easily be a top-15 WR.

Marquess Wilson is considered the leading candidate for the No. 3 wide receiver job.

Wilson may be known more for his accusations towards former head coach Mike Leach for abusive practices and the fact he quit the Washington State football team than he is for his ability/potential. Wilson is a wide out who stands about 6'4" who can go up and get the ball as well as adjust in the air to bring down a pass over smaller defensive backs. He has good hands and while not as hyped as some of the others in his draft class he has the potential to have a much better career and it starts with this opportunity that he appears headed to. He may still be a year away in regards to redraft leagues, but should be owned in all dynasty formats.

Do the Bears even throw it to the No. 3 wide receiver? Or at least enough to make a significant fantasy impact? Probably not. With Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery hoarding all the targets and Martellus Bennett getting his fair share, there's little left for the supporting cast. Maybe Wilson has increased value if there's an injury, but with full health to the team, he's not someone on whom to rely.

Justin Pugh said he added around 10 pounds of muscle this offseason and weighs around 315 pounds.

Well that doesn't stink as the average offensive lineman in the NFL is 310 pounds and although this info is a little outdated it still offers some perspective on how important it is for Pugh to bulk up: Of the 170 players that started at least one game as an offensive lineman in the 2011 season, only 28 weighed less than 300 pounds, according to a Cork Gaines article from the Business Insider.rnrnrn
