Lakers sign guard Wayne Ellington.

Ellington is nothing more a role player and is third on the depth chart behind Kobe and Nick Young.

Rasual Butler has reached an agreement on a non-guaranteed deal with the Washington Wizards.

Butler averaged 2.7 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.3 assists over eight minutes for the Pacers last season. The Wizards will give him a look to see if he can be a decent role player for them this year.

Bulls have re-signed C Nazr Mohammed.

The 37-year old appeared in 80 games last year but never in a situation where the game was on the line. Purely a garbage-time contributor here. He'll fill the same role with the Bulls again this year.

Mavericks signed G Doron Lamb to their training camp roster.

Through two seasons, Lamb has failed to stick with either the Magic or the Bucks. He'll be given an opportunity to join the Mavericks, but considering their depth at the guard position, he's going to have to show something fierce.

According to Nets GM Billy King, Monday was the first time Brook Lopez played 5-on-5 since his foot surgery.

Can Brook Lopez stay healthy for a full NBA season? That's the question for the Nets and their new Head Coach Lionel Hollins. If he can stay healthy, the Nets want to play bigger this season which means he'll have a bigger role in the offense. Hollins ran a lot of his offense in the post thanks to Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph in Memphis. Lopez had first-round value in fantasy leagues before his season-ending injury, so he'll be a risk-reward pick in the late-early rounds.

Paul George (broken leg) is down to one crutch and wearing a walking boot. He's been working out five times a week according to head coach Frank Vogel.

This is all well and good but we all saw the injury 100 times and no one in their right mind thinks he will play a minute in the 2014-15 NBA season. You have to admire his dedication and work ethic but even doing everything in his power won't get him back on the court this season.

Hornets' Jeff Taylor says his Achilles is completely healed.

Taylor appeared in just 26 games last year due to the ruptured Achilles tendon. He was averaging eight points and 2.4 rebounds over 24.2 minutes per game prior to the injury and is expected to return to his role this season.

Source says Celtics signing of Evan Turner will be completed and announced before training camp starts on September 30th.

Turner had a tale of two seasons last year as he thrived in Philadelphia but struggled when he ended up with the Pacers. He averaged 14 points per game but only 7.1 while he was with Indiana. The Celtics are obviously hoping for the first-half version. Expect the deal to be officially announced during the coming week.

Ramon Sessions has reached agreement on a two-year deal with Sacramento.

Sessions averaged 12.3 points, 4.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 26.7 minutes per game last season between Milwaukee and Charlotte. He should be one of the first guards off the bench when needed.
