Chris Wallace has been named General Manager of the Memphis Grizzlies and has signed a multi-year contract extension to remain with the organization.

This is a smart move by the Grizzlies, as Wallace, who has been with the team since 2007, has been responsible for much of the team's recent success.

Oklahoma City Thunder PF Serge Ibaka says he is still not 100 percent after calf rupture.

Ibaka did cite progress in the healing, though, and still plans on playing for Spain in the World Cup of Basketball. However, expect the Thunder to get involved if he's not back at full health by the time the Cup rolls around in September. They're the ones who are paying him the big bucks, so they don;t want him doing anything that could jeopardize his season.

Update: Clippers PF Blake Griffin withdrew last week from Team USA training camp to give a small fracture in his back more time to heal before the start of the next NBA season.

Smart move, Blake. It's not Team USA paying you your contract. Best to stay right for the NBA season and pass on the civic pride and international representation.

Bulls guard Derrick Rose showed that familiar burst and athleticism while making many effortless plays during his first day in camp with the USA Basketball team Monday.

Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski said that Rose wouldn't have any restrictions at practice or in games and Rose says that his knees feel great and he is playing with more confidence. This should prove to be a nice warm-up to the season for him and help knock off any rust he may have.

Phoenix Suns forward P.J. Tucker was arrested for a "super extreme DUI" back in May.

Interesting news, coming off the earlier announcement this month that the Suns were resigning him for an additional three years, although reports indicate that the team was aware of the arrest when he was resigned. Boring detail: super extreme DUI requires a .20 blood alcohol content level in Arizona.

Jimmy Butler sustained a minor groin injury working out on his own in Texas and skipped US Select team as precaution.

That is a major bummer for Butler because playing on the US Select team is a huge honor and a great way to improve his game while playing against the best basketball players in the country (world). Butler took a major leap last season and will be the Bulls starting shooting guard this upcoming season.

Judge has ruled against Donald Sterling, which clears way for the Clippers to be sold to Steve Ballmer for $2B.

Finally! This whole situation can come to end and we no longer have to hear anything about what Donald Sterling does. The NBA doesn't have to worry about a possibility of players holding out or boycotting games because the Sterling mess is now over. On another note: The fact the Clippers sold for $2 billion is preposterous because that was more than double what they worth and no NBA team is worth that much money.

Update: Mo Williams has agreed to a one year, $3.75M deal with the Timberwolves.

This is a good move for the Wolves as they needed a quality backup point guard. Mo-Will gives the them a point guard that can actually shoot the ball and spread the defense out. He does not have much fantasy value, unless something happened to Ricky Rubio.
