Fantasy Basketball NBA News

Kobe Bryant says he felt “normal” after the first practice and says he’s never ran this much in any practice.

He practiced for a long length of time and looks 100% healthy entering this season. He's going to be a steal in fantasy drafts because the production will be there, yet, will slip in drafts because of the injury concern that surrounds him.

Bruno Caboclo (calf) practiced in full Tuesday.

Caboclo was the Raptors first round pick in this years draft, which drew a lot of criticism from other NBA GM's and personal. He's a young player that is very raw and has a long way to go before he's contributing in the NBA.

Lucas Nogueira (groin) was limited in Tuesday's practice.

He has a small chance of making the team and missing practice only hurts those chances.

Xavier Henry (back spasms) did not practice on Tuesday.

Henry has dealt with injuries throughout his short NBA career. He's a mediocre player at best and will see limited minutes with the Lakers this season.

Steve Nash practiced for 90 minutes on Tuesday.

Ha, guess its only news when an old player practices for X amount of time. Nash has dealt with so many injuries in the past few seasons that it will be hard to trust him in fantasy leagues this season. Expect Jeremy Lin to start more games than Nash this season because of injuries to Nash.

Kobe Bryant practiced for 2 hours and 15 minutes on Tuesday.

He stated that he was 100% entering training camp and backed up that statement with a very long practice session. He's going to be a steal in fantasy drafts because the production will be there, yet, will slip in drafts because of the injury concern that surrounds him.

Nuggets have signed Alonzo Gee and Pops Mensah-Bonsu.

So happy that Pops is back in the league, mainly because his name is so much fun to say. However, he's a long shot to make the Nuggets regular season roster. Alonzo Gee is a more versatile player and has a chance of making the team, but would only play a small amount of minutes per game. Both players do not have any fantasy value.

Alonzo Gee did not practice with the Nuggets Tuesday, but did take his physical.

Gee went from 30 minutes per game to just 15 minutes last season as he was reduced to being just a role player for the Cavaliers last season. With no shot at regular playing time with the Cleveland Lebrons, he's taking his ball and going to Denver. He signed a contract Tuesday morning and took his physical, so if all is well, he'll start practicing with the team immediately.

Paul George believes he might be able to suit up for the Pacers this year, if the short-handed squad can make the playoffs.

It's a long shot. A very long shot. While George is a strong talent, he should not be on fantasy rosters this year. Even if you think he'll be back late in the season, you don't know how he'll play immediately and would be better served with someone much more predictable.

Derrick Favors said he lost at least 10 pounds of fat and put on muscle this offseason.

New Jazz head coach Quin Snyder has announced that Derrick Favors is expected to start at center. Favors has focused this summer on losing weight, expanding his shooting range and improving his back-to-the basket post moves. He's expected to spend more time in pick-and-rolls this year, which is good news since he was one of the most efficient roll-men off screens last season.
