Fantasy Basketball NBA News

Andre Iguodala came off the bench and scored 15 points (6-11 FGA/1-2 FTA) while going 2-for-4 from three-point range with four rebounds, three assists, one steal and a block against the Rockets on Saturday.

Although Iguodala came off the bench on Saturday night he still managed to log more playing time than starter Harrison Barnes in the Warriors victory over the Rockets. His unselfish play has limited his fantasy value since joining the Warriors, but he is still someone worth owning in most fantasy formats even if he is no a permanent figure in starting lineups.

It's likely that Andre Iguodala will get Friday night off vs. Miami.

Iguodala suffered a broken nose last week and he was brought in off the bench last game as he was being eased back in. He'll likely do the same for this game, but shoudl the Warriors simply want to give more time to those fighting for roster spots, he'll get the night off.

Coach Steve Kerr said he'll start Harrison Barnes over Andre Iguodala on Thursday.

The Warriors are still waiting for Barnes to have a breakout season after posting mediocre numbers over his first two years. Iguodala is the better defender between the two and the more established player and will likely start over Barnes once the season begins.

Andre Iguodala broke his nose against the Lakers Thursday but will likely play through it. He may wear a protective mask.

There does not appear to be any cause for concern at this time, though his fantasy owners will probably feel better once he plays in another preseason game. Iguodala averaged less than 10 points per game last season, the first time since his rookie season

Andre Iguodala continues to be sidelined after getting an injection for his knee tendinitis.

Andre Iguodala was named to the 2013-14 NBA All-Defensive First Team on Monday.

Iggy's offensive production was overall fairly disappointing from a fantasy perspective this past season, but was a solid contributor, in his first year with the Warriors, from a pure basketball perspective as he lead the NBA with positive nine +/- differential. Iguodala should not be a player you target in fantasy next year, but he is a player every team needs based on his versatility on both ends of the court.

Warriors' Andre Iguodala underwent a year-end physical that showed right knee tendinitis and left hip soreness, but he won't need surgery at this time.

Just because he doesn't need surgery now doesn't mean that his knee and hip issues won't be a major problem moving forward, so that's something to keep in mind when setting up keepers and draft strategy for next season. Make a note now and be prepared in the future.
