Adam Dunn hit his 16th home run, a solo-shot, to go with a walk in four plate appearances in Tuesday's 11-4 win over the Tigers.

That's a typical Adam Dunn game. He has been much better this season than he was last year, but with Dunn there is no upside. He is what he is and that is a power hitter that gets on-base and strikeouts a lot. With that said, there are worse options out there and Dunn should be owned in most leagues.

Jose Abreu went 3-for-4 with his 31st home run, a walk, four RBI, and two runs scored to lead the White Sox past the Tigers Tuesday.

Such a mastodon. Abreu has just annihilated major league pitching in his first season and now boasts an 18-game hitting streak. There is no sign of him slowing down and he will remain a top option going forward.

Jose Quintana improves to 6-7 with the win over the Tigers Tuesday where he gave up runs, nine hits, and two walks with two strikeouts over six innings.

Quintana was shaky early on, but settled in and picked up the win on Wednesday night. He is one of the more underrated starters in the game and should continue to post solid numbers over the next few months.

Avisail Garcia (shoulder) took part in a live batting practice session Tuesday.

Garcia was originally thought to miss the rest of the season after he was injured in April, but there are rumblings that he may be available in September. It may be a long shot, but if Garcia gets back on the field, he could be an asset to those of you in deeper leagues. Keep an eye on this situation.

The Yankees are still looking at White Sox left-hander John Danks as a trade possibility in what appears to be a diminishing starters market for them.

The Yanks are exploring all options when it comes to upgrading their starting rotation. It's unlikely they'll need to give up much -- if anything -- for Danks since he's owed $14.5 million in each of the next two seasons. He owns a 4.40 ERA in 131 innings and a strikeout-walk ratio of 92/46. A move to Yankees stadium wouldn't move the ticker with his fantasy value.

The Yankees' rotation has been decimated by injury this year. While there are other possible trades, Danks looks to be near the top of the list. His $34 million dollars owed over the next three years falls well within the Yankees' financial wheelhouse. Danks has a 4.40 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 131 innings pitched this year.

Zach Putnam (shoulder) is scheduled to resume mound work Friday.

Putnam says that he won't need more than the 15 days, so the expectation is that he'll be back by August 8, the day he is eligible. While that may be the case, there's no guarantee that he'll start getting saves chances again. Jacob Petricka has filled in admirably in his absence.

Tyler Flowers went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored against the Twins on Saturday.

Flowers has hit safely in seven of his last eight games and is 14-for-27 (.519) with one home run, seven RBI and a pair of runs scored over that span. He's now hitting .243 on the year which is actually pretty good for him. He remains a low-end option with his six home runs and high strikeout total.

Alexei Ramirez went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored during the White Sox' 7-0 win over the Twins on Saturday.

Ramirez has now hit safely in each of his last five games, has home runs in his last two and is now batting .285 with 10 home runs and 46 RBI on the year. He opened the season hot and cooled considerably as the All Sta r break approached, but he's picked his game right back up and continues to be one of the more productive shortstops in the game.
