Brian Cushing says he's encouraged by the progress his knee has made but a decision on whether he plays or not will come after pregame workout.

Consider Cushing a game-time decision. He's been having knee issues and there are plenty of comments swirling about his status for the game and Week 9 as well. If he starts Sunday, then he should be useful for IDP purposes as he's been playing through the injury to date.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien said Brian Cushing remains day-to-day with a sore knee but is making progress and will head north for Sunday's game against the Titans.

O'Brien came out Thursday and said there was no truth to the rumors that Cushing's knee would hold him out for at least one game prior to the Week 10 bye. Unfortunately, he wasn't all that convincing and came across as a guy trying to cover up a big secret someone just blurted out. Cushing is likely to be a game time decision, so it makes sense that he's traveling with the team. However, a final decision won't be made until Sunday.

Andre Johnson (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday.

We all know that Johnson is going to play on Sunday and this is just regular practice protocol. He makes for a solid WR2 against Tennessee this weekend.

Coach Bill O'Brien disputes the report that Brian Cushing will miss Sunday's game. He says Cushing will be evaluated prior to the game.

Cushing is dealing with a sore knee and there was a report on NFL.com that said that he would miss at least one game prior to the Texans' Week 10 bye to rest. O'Brien doesn't want to tip his hand early so he'll call Cushing a game-time decision to ensure that the Titans at least prepare for him. He becomes a risky IDP option now though.

Coach Bill O'Brien says Jadeveon Clowney could play Sunday against the Titans.

According to defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, Clowney is most likely to see time on third down plays. The team simply won't commit to full-time duty for him just yet, but he should be ready to go on a limited basis at least for this week.

Jadeveon Clowney (knee) said he would be surprised if he doesn't play on Sunday.

Both Clowney and the team expect him to return Sunday, so that shouldn't be an issue. What will be an issue is how much work he actually gets. The Texan will probably ease him back in as Whitney Mercilus has done a great job filling in thus far.

Arian Foster (rest) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

It was just a simple day off for Foster. Nothing to worry about here. He'll be leading the charge out of the backfield this week when the Texans face the Titans who give up 127.3 rushing yards per game and have allowed six rushing touchdowns.

Ryan Fitzpatrick acknowledged a need to get Andre Johnson (ankle) the ball more following Monday night's loss to the Steelers. "My job is to get the ball to our play-makers and I didn't get it to Andre nearly enough early," Fitzpatrick said.

If nine targets Monday, a 32.6-percent target rate overall and a 50-percent red zone target rate aren't "getting the ball to Andre," then this is going to be one hell of a second half. Johnson is already the most targeted receiver on the Texans and Fitzpatrick looks for him regularly. If he's now talking about more looks to Johnson, then you may want to think about trading for him.

Per league source, Texans LB Brian Cushing (knee) will miss at least a week.

Cushing has had serious knee injuries the past two seasons, and he hasn't looked like himself of late. He looks slower than usual, and still looks like he is trying to get back in the swing of things. He will be inactive for Houston's week eight contest with the Titans.

Jadeveon Clowney (knee) was limited in practice on Wednesday.

Clowney played part of one game this season before tearing his lateral meniscus. He returned to practice last week, but wasn't active on Monday night against Pittsburgh. The rookie defensive lineman still isn't a full participant in practice and also hasn't been guaranteed a starting job upon his return. With that said, let's be realistic, if he doesn't start his first game back, it should only take a week or two before he's playing almost every down. It's a very real possibility that Clowney will play this weekend against Tennessee.
