Ryan Shazier (ankle) will be eased back into practice next week.

The rookie is unlikely to play for at least another two weeks due to a severe ankle sprain. It has been a rough season for the rookie linebacker and the Steelers will want him fully healthy before he makes his return.

Troy Polamalu (knee) expects to return to action after the Steelers' bye week.

Pittsburgh has a late bye week this season and they are in the thick of a playoff run. They want Polamalu to be as healthy as possible as they get deeper into the season, but on the flip side, he's a dynamic player that makes their defense better, so getting him back in the lineup is a priority.

Ike Taylor said he has an appointment with Steelers doctor on Monday to see if he'll be cleared for return to contact.

Good news for the Steelers defense that their top corner back is getting close to returning to the field. Taylor has been out since breaking his forearm on September 21st. We will have to wait and see what the team doctors say on Monday.

Steelers promoted RB Josh Harris from the practice squad.

Harris is up just to provide some depth at the position. Dri Archer took a hard hit during Monday's game and while he came away from it unscathed, coach Mike Tomlin wants to make sure he never ends up shorthanded.

LeGarrette Blount was released by the Steelers Tuesday.

There was a report after the game last night from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the Steelers planned to "take some action for sure" against LeGarrette Blount after he left the field before the end of Monday's game. He had little to no role with the emergence of star running back Le'Veon Bell. The writing was on the wall for Blount.

Report: LeGarrette Blount left the field early Monday night, frustrated by not getting a single carry.

Apparently Blount needs to light up another doobie with teammate Le'Veon Bell to bury the hatchet. Rumors suggest that certain players in the Steelers locker room have encouraged the team's brass to cut Blount due to his rotten attitude. He has a reputation as one of the league's more prickly guys, although he's having a decent season, averaging more than four yards per carry (4.2) in relief of Bell, making a release unlikely.

William Gay recorded three tackles and one interception, which was returned for a touchdown, during the Steelers' 27-24 win over Tennessee on Monday night.

Gay intercepted Zach Mettenberger on his first pass attempt on Monday night and took it to the house for a pick six. That touchdown marked Gay's second of the season, as he intercepted Andrew Luck three weeks ago when the Steelers played Indianapolis. It's worth noting that Gay has increased his tackles in recent weeks, so he makes for a fine IDP option going forward.

Shaun Suisham was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts and converted three extra-point attempts against the Titans on Monday.

A nice night for Suisham and with the final score being 27-24, his perfect night mattered immensely. He's a solid kicking option going forward, so long as you are looking for deep field goals.

Heath Miller caught five passes on five targets for 71 yards during Pittsburgh's 27-24 win over Tennessee on Monday night.

Miller is always useful when Ben Roethlisberger is playing it safe and that was the case on Monday night. He is a tough player to gauge on a week-to-week basis, but there is no denying that he is a popular target of Roethlisberger. He doesn't have much upside, but Miller is always a solid option with the right matchup.

Martavis Bryant caught two passes on five targets for 11 yards during Pittsburgh's 27-24 win over Tennessee on Monday night.

Monday night marked Bryant's fifth game of the season, but it was the first game he played where he didn't score a touchdown. This game revolved completely around Le'Veon Bell and when the Steelers weren't running the ball, Ben Roethlisberger was looking only at Antonio Brown and Heath Miller. Bryant should get back on track in two weeks after Pittsburgh's bye week.
