Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Doug Baldwin and Paul Richardson will be kick returners on Sunday, not Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas.

Does this maybe give some new life to the return team? Maybe. But the impact here is not significant enough for people to realize that the vaunted Seahawks defense was overrated coming into the fantasy season and those who bought the hype are still scratching their heads.

Kam Chancellor is probable for the Week 8 game at Carolina despite an ankle issue. He practiced in full Thursday and Friday after not participating Wednesday.

Chancellor sat out on Wednesday, but it was likely more as a precaution than a serious injury. The Seahawks' safety should be good to go for Sunday's game assuming no setbacks, as he had a full body of work on both Thursday and Friday.

Michael Bennett (toe) returned to a full practice on Friday.

Bennett missed Thursday's practice with a toe injury, but he returned for a full day on Friday, making the toe injury appear to be a minor issue. He should be good to go for Sunday's game.

Coach Pete Carroll said WR Bryan Walters did not clear concussion protocol and will not play Sunday.

Walters, the Seahawks kick/punt returner, suffered a concussion, possibly during Wednesday's practice. The issue will keep him out of Sunday's game, and he'll be reevaluated next week.

Coach Pete Carroll says CB Byron Maxwell is "not there yet" and will have a good chance of returning next week.

Maxwell has yet to practice due to a high ankle sprain, but he's been doing condition and hopes to be back next week. Tharold Simon will likely fill in for him this week, but it looks like Maxwell will be able to start again in Week 9, assuming no setbacks.

FB Derrick Coleman underwent surgery to repair broken bone in his foot.

Coleman broke his foot warming up before last Sunday's game, requiring surgery. The injury is a big blow to the Seahawks, as Coleman was there starting full back. It's unknown when he could return, but for now Robert Turbin may see more looks from Coleman's normal spot.

Seahawks re-signed TE Rashaun Allen to their practice squad.

Allen was waived from the active roster on Tuesday, but Seattle decided to bring him back to their practice squad. He will remain there until he is signed to an active roster.

Marshawn Lynch, RB Robert Turbin and S Kam Chancellor returned to full practice on Thursday.

All three are ready to go for Sunday's game against Carolina. Lynch has been quiet the past few weeks, so a breakout game has to be on the horizon soon.

Michael Bennett did not practice Thursday with a toe injury.

Bennett is still being bothered by a toe injury and his status for Sunday's game against the Panthers is in question. We should know more on his status after practice on Friday.

Marshawn Lynch (rest) did not practice Wednesday.

Lynch received the day off to rest; nothing more than that. He'll be just fine for Sunday's game against the Panthers and their 29th-ranked run defense which allows 137.6 rushing yards per game and has given up eight rushing touchdowns.
