Mark Ingram, a 2011 first-round pick, is ready to put together his best NFL season, reports the team's website. Ingram is healthy, fit and decisive as a runner.

That could certainly be the case, but Ingram wouldn't have to do a whole lot in order to have his best NFL season. Ingram is probably a bit undervalued this season, though the presence of Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas limits his ceiling.

Saints released DE Rufus Johnson.

Johnson spent the majority of the 2013 season on the practice squad but clearly did not fit into the Saints' plans this season. He shouldn't have a problem finding work with another club.

Ty Nsekhe, Andy Tanner, and Ty Zimmerman cleared waivers and now return to the Saints on injured reserve.

This is standard procedure. All three players cleared waivers meaning that the Saints could retain their right by placing them on injured reserve.

Saints waived CB Rod Sweeting and LB Kevin Reddick.

NFL rosters must be cut down to 75 players by today so these are apparently the unfortunate few that Saints let go.

Saints released LB Victor Butler.

Last season was lost to a torn ACL and he's been dealing with an undisclosed injury here in cam as well. The Saints have plenty more at linebacker that they don't need to hold him.

Kenny Stills is not practicing on Tuesday.

Stills is dealing with an injured quad throughout training camp and during the Saints last preseason game he re-aggravated the quad. The Saints will likely proceed with caution to make sure Stills is ready to suit up for Week 1.

Khairi Fortt is not practicing on Tuesday.

The fourth-round pick out of Cal is a an outstanding physical specimen, but his skills on the field are a bit on the raw side. He's probably on the bubble though right now.

Marcus Ball is not practicing on Tuesday.

No word yet as to why he isn't practicing, but it's not earth-shattering considering he was strictly secondary depth.

Marques Colston said he feels much healthier this season after being plagued by a foot injury the last year or two.

Foot and ankle problems have long been the bane of Colston's existence these last two years. While his declaration of feeling better should always be taken with a grain of salt, he has looked good in camp this summer and there haven't been any health issues yet of which to speak. Don't sleep on him in drafts this year as his value is expected to be higher than it's been in the last two-plus seasons.
