Troy Tulowitzki (quad) is not in the Rockies starting lineup Tuesday.

This will be the third straight game Tulo has missed because of a quad injury. The Rockies say he is day-to-day so he should return to the lineup soon. However, we have seen this same situation with him before and he could easily find himself on the disabled list. He has been one of the best players in baseball this season and is a must start when healthy.

Troy Tulowitzki will test his left thigh on Tuesday with increased activity.

The Rockies will see how Tulo does during pre-game activities before deciding on whether or not he can play immediately, whether he needs to still wait a couple of days or will need a stint on the disabled list. Obviously they are hoping that he will be fine, but they are preparing for life with Josh Rutledge as their starting shortstop.

Franklin Morales gave up four runs (three earned) on nine hits and four walks with three strikeouts over six innings against the Nationals on Monday.

Although Morales has been pitching better of late (3 ER or less over last three starts), he found himself in the losing column on Monday and is now 5-5 with a 5.21 ERA and 1.56 WHIP through 93.1 innings between the bullpen and the starting rotation. Unless you are in a deep NL-only league there is really no reason to pay attention to Morales, considering he owns a 65:40 K:BB rate and has allowed 19 home runs up to this point. He will look to get back in the win column when he takes on the Pirates on Sunday.

Michael Cuddyer said his MRI on his shoulder showed healing and he can start working towards a mid-August return.

There was some concern that Cuddy's broken shoulder would cause him to miss the entire season, but Monday's MRI brought hope that he could return before season's end. Mid-August seems a bit optimistic, especially considering that the Rockies are in last place and would be wise to take the cautious and patient approach throughout Cuddyer's rehab process. Thus, if/when he does return it will likely be too late for most fantasy owners to warrant wasting a roster spot in waiting.

Rockies have reinstated relief pitcher Nick Masset from the disabled list Monday.

Masset's knee is healthy but his stat line ensures that he will not be a major waiver wire target in most fantasy leagues, with a 4.94 ERA and 1.61 WHIP on the season so far.

Update: The Colorado Rockies have decided to place pitcher Boone Logan on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 12th, with Diverticulitis.

With a 6.11 ERA and 1.58 WHIP on the season, he has not been very effective for the Rockies out of the pen. Nick Masset was activated from the 15 day DL in a corresponding, and fantasy irrelevant move.

Boone Logan is still unavailable with a neck strain, but manager Walt Weiss says he won't need to go on the disabled list.

Makes no sense why the Rockies don't put him on the disabled list since he hasn't pitched in over 10 days. Also, he has been dreadful this season by posting a 6.11 ERA and 1.58 WHIP. Enough said.

Yohan Flande will start Tuesday's game for the Rockies.

The young left handed pitcher has been absolutely lit up this season by giving up at least three earned runs in all three of his starts. He sports an obese 7.36 ERA and should not be streamed tomorrow. Plan on stacking the Nationals again, as they get to face Yohan in Coors Field.

Troy Tulowitzki is still sore but better. He doesn't think he'll need to go on the disabled list and hopes to go Tuesday.

Anytime Tulo suffers any kind of injury, minor or major, there is the threat of him being put on the disabled list. He's having another fantastic season and the last thing fantasy owners want is for Tulowitzki to miss time by being put on the disabled list.
