According to ESPN NY, Troy Tulowitzki to the Mets is not happening due to the money owed and Colorado's asking price.
That's understandable. There are still three years left on the seven-year, $134M deal that Tulowitzki signed back in 2010 and considering his chronic health issues, there are few teams willing to pick up the money and take that risk. On top of that, the Rockies are looking for a substantial package of young players in return so the price gets even steeper than just the money. The Rockies are probably better off waiting until closer to the trade deadline as more teams may be willing to take a risk if the playoffs are a more guaranteed payoff.
