Christian Bergman allowed just one run on two hits and five walks while striking out five batters over 5.1 innings against the Diamondbacks on Friday.

While he allowed just one run, Bergman certainly wasn't doing you any favors in the WHIP category with the five walks. His command just wasn't on-point here and the fact that he needed 95 pitches (54 strikes) to get through 5.1 innings was a prime example. Given the state of the Rockies and their rotation, Bergman is going to sty in the rotation. Whether that's a good thing or not is yet to be seen fully, but he's starting at home next against the Giants, so you probably want to keep him off your starting roster.

Nolan Arenado went 1-for-4 with an RBI-double in the seventh inning in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.

The run-producing double was a welcomed sight as things have slowed for Arenado over the last week. He's now just 3-for-19 (.158) over his last five games with just this one RBI to show for it. We expect another uptick in production soon, but it might have to wait until his homestand starting Monday.

Jordan Lyles allowed three earned runs on four hits while walking three and striking out five over six innings in the Rockies 4-1 loss to the Giants on Thursday.

This was a quality start for Lyles, but obviously he wasn't overly dominant. He'll face the Giants again in his next start, only this time, he'll be pitching in Coors Field where his ERA is almost a full point higher (4.53) than his number (3.57) on the road.

The Brewers won the waiver claim on Justin Morneau, but were unable to acquire him.

The Brewers had claimed him and immediately submitted a proposal to the Rockies with a package players (offer not released). They were unable to get anything done however and the Brewers will continue their quest for a division title with the likes of Lyle Overbay and Mark Reynolds steering the ship.

Jorge De La Rosa is expected to make his next scheduled start after leaving his outing Tuesday, due to a thumb injury.

De La Rosa jammed his thumb while trying to bunt but remained in the game. He did then give up a two-run homer and was immediately removed from the game. Consider him day-to-day., but it looks like you can expect him to return to the hill next week.

Corey Dickerson hit his 20th home run of the year while adding a walk in the Rockies defeat to the Giants on Wednesday night.

Dickerson continues to have a great season, though it will be interesting to see if he is a full-time starter in Colorado or elsewhere next season.

Franklin Morales allowed one run on seven hits and a walk with six strikeouts over six innings in a no decision against the Giants on Wednesday.

For whatever reason, Morales appears to have the Giants's number this season. He is still unusable in all formats, except maybe if he faces San Francisco again on the road.
