Troy Tulowitzki visits with Dr. William C. Meyers to undergo a dry needling procedure Monday to promote healing in left hip.

On July 23, Troy Tulowitzki was placed on the 15-day disabled list for a left hip flexor strain. This is first trip to the DL this season. Tulowitzki has hit .340 this season, with 21 home runs. According to Tulowitzki, this injury is related to his quadriceps tear in 2008. He states that he will be able to play at a high level when he returns. Tulo is also hoping the Rockies remember to spell his name correctly for his bobblehead night.

Justin Morneau will go to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Monday. It could be two games and if all goes well he'll push to be activated Tuesday.

Justin Morneau was placed on the 15 day DL with a stiff neck. On Saturday, he took his first batting practice since that injury. Look for him to be back in the lineup this week, hopefully by Tuesday.

Carlos Gonzalez is not in the Rockies starting lineup on Sunday.

Gonzalez rolled his ankle at home on Saturday morning. This will be the second game he has missed. He is listed as day to day. Gonzalez has been struggling since returning from finger surgery, It has been a long season for those managers who used a first round pick on him, and there does not seem to be much hope on the horizon. In related news, Milwaukee fans are starting a petition to wrest the "CarGo" nickname from Gonzalez and give it to their star center fielder.

Jordan Lyles began a rehab assignment with Class A Modesto Saturday, giving up three hits and two walks in 3 2/3 scoreless innings and striking out four batters.

Word was that if Saturday's game went well that Lyles will be moved to Triple-A for his next rehab start and then from there back to the Rockies. Considering what kind of numbers he usually puts up, we'd have to say that if Lyles didn't feel any pain or discomfort, that this would be a successful outing for him. Look for him to move to Triple-A Colorado Springs later in the week.

Justin Morneau took batting practice Saturday for the first time since being placed on the disabled list with a stiff neck.

Morneau is eligible to come off the DL on Tuesday, but given that Saturday was his first time taking BP, it is unclear as to whether or not he'll be ready. The Rockies will evaluate him daily, so we should get official word soon enough.

Drew Stubbs was removed from Saturday's game after five innings due to a rolled ankle.

With the return of Carlos Gonzalez Stubbs has seen his playing time relegated to fourth outfield duties but he has been productive when in the lineup. Overall on the season Stubbs is hitting .302 with 40 runs, 11 home runs, 29 RBI and 11 stolen bases. Stubbs was in the lineup yesterday because CarGo had rolled his ankle during warm ups so it should be interesting to see if either of them are in the lineup for Sunday's game.

Rockies SS Troy Tulowitki has flown to Philadelphia to consult with sports hernia surgeon Dr. William C. Meyers.

We're not sure if this is a bad omen or just the team being cautious, but Tulo seeing a specialist of any kind can't be good. We'll await an update from the team before jumping to conclusions, but this is suddenly turning onto more than just a quick trip to the DL.

Update: Carlos Gonzalez was scratched with a right ankle injury.

As we just stated, Gonzalez rolled his ankle during the day and the Rockies have scratched him as a precaution. He hopes to be in the lineup Sunday, but for now, Brandon Barnes will take over in left field.
