The Mets and Rockies have been quietly discussing a potential Troy Tulowitzki blockbuster for weeks, though it isn't known yet whether New York will have a decent chance to complete such a deal.

The Rockies are likely asking for one, if not more of the young arms the Mets have stockpiled. While shortstop has been a troubled spot for the Mets since they traded Jose Reyes, losing a pitcher like Zack Wheeler, Jake DeGrom or even Noah Syndergaard in exchange for the aging and oft-injured Tulowitzki would be a mistake. They are more than capable of building up their offense in another, and much safer, way.

Rockies have signed pitcher Justin Miller and catcher Audry Perez to minor-league contracts.

Both players will join the Rockies in spring training, but neither are realistic options to break camp with the team.

Rockies have acquired CF Noel Cuevas from the Dodgers to complete the Juan Nicasio trade.

The Dodgers acquired Nicasio for a player to be named later and Cuevas is that PTBNL. Cuevas is a 23-year old outfielder that hasn't made his major league debut yet.

Rockies signed INF Daniel Descalso to a two-year deal.

Descalso is a slick-fielding middle infielder who spent the last few seasons as a utility player for the Cardinals. Given the injury history of Troy Tulowitzki, fantasy owners should familiarize themselves with Descalso if they haven't done so already.

Rockies closer LaTroy Hawkins to retire after 2015 season.

In his 20 years in the league, Hawkins has 124 saves and a 4.33 ERA. Look for him to be a solid contributor in the Rockies pen during his last season.

The Rockies acquire RHP Austin House and cash from the Athletics for INF Mark Canha.

House showed a little bit of promise as a potential closer while at High-A and wasn't awful during his quick jump to Triple-A for a few innings, but he needs a lot more seasoning on the farm. Canha has actually shown some developing power in the Marlins system but was, for whatever reason, being blocked. He's got some nice upside and could develop even more in the A's minor league system.

The Rockies traded Josh Rutledge to the Angels for right-handed reliever Jairo Diaz.

Diaz is a hard-throwing righty who averaged 97 mph on his fastball in five innings with the Angels last season. The Rockies do not have much in the way of power arms, and Diaz could easily wind up in a late-inning role as early as opening day. Rutledge does not do any one thing particularly well, and he has nearly identical numbers against righties and lefties. He provides the Angels with some infield depth, but he has done nothing to indicate he will ever be a starting-caliber infielder.

Rockies getting massive interest in OF Corey Dickerson, but would need to be overwhelmed to move him.

In his sophomore season Dickerson took the baseball world by surprise as he hit .312 with 74 runs, 24 home runs, 76 RBI and eight stolen bases for the Rockies over 131 games. Dickerson hit an impressive .363 at Coors field last season which should give some teams reason to pause but at 25 years old he looks to be one of the best up and coming outfielders in the game.

Chad Bettis will move from reliever back to starter.

Bettis was a disaster last season for the Rockies bullpen as he went 0-2 with a 9.12 ERA over 24.2 innings. His move to the rotation in unlikely to yield strong results given where he plays his home games.

Rockies and Rangers continue to have discussions about Wilin Rosario.

Rosario hit .267 with 46 runs, 13 home runs and 54 RBI over 106 games for the Rockies last season and wold continue to excel with a move to Texas as both stadiums are two of the more hitter friendly ball parks in all of baseball.
