Dwight Howard will sit out the second half of Sunday's game.

Howard has been dealing with some minor ailments lately, and the Rockets are most likely just giving their star center some rest. Howard should be ready for Houston's season opener at full strength.

Coach Kevin McHale says Jason Terry got in a good practice Friday and he hopes he'll get to play in a game on this road trip, maybe by Wednesday in Orlando.

Terry hasn't appeared in a preseason game yet, but he did return to practice last weekend. The hamstring injury has been problematic through training camp, but he seems to be at the tail-end of his recovery and should be back shortly.

James Harden (hip) went through a full practice Thursday.

This fantasy beast is dealing with a minor hip issue, but it isn't something that is going to keep him out action. He's easily a top ten pick headed into fantasy basketball drafts.

Update: Dwight Howard (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.

This is par for the course with a guy like Howard. It's a long season and given his body type he is more prone to injuries. He was limited on Thursday, but he is actually quite healthy and will look to be a force underneath the hoop this year.

Dwight Howard (knee) is hopeful he will play in the Rockets next game.

The big man is looking to stay healthy for the entire season so missing a few preseason games is par for the course. He is battling a knee injury, but it isn't considered serious. Expect to see him in action before the regular season commences.

Dwight Howard (knee) will not play on Tuesday.

Howard's injury is not considered serious and the Rockets are giving him some rest to make sure he is healthy for the start of the season.

Update: James Harden says he probably won't play Monday night vs Phoenix so he can rest a sore hip.

It definitely makes sense as Harden is a guy you obviously want to keep healthy given the value he has to the Rockets. Even if it's him and the team being overly-cautious, that's probably fine. The important thing is to have him on the court for the regular season.

James Harden (hip) sat out of practice Sunday.

Harden injured his hip last Friday, missed a practice or two, and came back and played afterwards. He sat out this Sunday for precautionary reasons, and it shouldn't affect him much longer. Harden is a no doubt first round pick in fantasy drafts, and Harden will be the top shooting guard at seasons end. Fear the beard.

Dwight Howard missed practice Sunday with a sore knee. He will likely miss Monday's game and maybe Tuesday's. Howard said his knee is feeling a lot better but since it's preseason, he is taking advantage of having time to rest.

Howard most likely will end up missing through Tuesday's game as the Rockets want to make sure their star center is at full strength for the season. Howard is one of the best centers in the game, and another off season should have helped strengthen his arsenal of moves in the post. While Howard will hurt you from the free throw line, he is a great rebounder, and is a stopper on the defensive end.

Chandler Parsons reported to training camp overweight, according to Mavericks' head coach Rick Carlisle.

There was little talk of Parsons's weight during the Team USA training camp, though it is possible weight played a factor in Parsons being left off the FIBA squad. In any event, we are still three weeks away from the start of the season. Even if Parsons is slow right now, he has plenty of time to work his way back into shape. Parsons averaged 16.6 ppg, 5.5 rpb and 4.0 apg last season with the Rockets; he should be even better in Dallas.
