Jimmy Rollins entered Wednesday's game in the seventh and hit a pinch-hit solo home run against the Mets.

Rollins was getting a day off Wednesday but with the Mets up 4-1 in the seventh, manager Ryne Sandberg was looking to spark a little offense and used his veteran shortstop as a pinch hitter. The move paid off as Rollins helped chase Mets starter Zack Wheeler with a solo shot to move the Phillies to within two. Unfortunately the move was immediately negated when the Phillies plated five in the bottom half of the inning. Rollins looks like he's going to stay put at the trade deadline, so continue to value you him just as you have all year long.

Kyle Kendrick fell to 5-11 after allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings against the Mets on Wednesday.

Kendrick was roughed up once again and seems to continue putting the Phillies in a regular hole each time he takes the mound. He's allowed fewer than four runs just once in his last five outings, he doesn't strike a ton of guys out, and while he may not issue many walks, he is certainly one of the more hittable pitchers in the game right now. He'll face Houston next who has a surprisingly strong-hitting ball club right now. You DFS people may want to think about a cheap stack of Astros next week.

The New York Yankees have talked to the Phillies about Marlon Byrd, though no deal is close yet.

It was recently reported that the Phillies had not yet received an "acceptable" offer for any of their players. The 36-year-old is owed $8 million in each of the next two years. He's continued his late-career renaissance into the 2014 season, slashing .273/.321/.482 with 20 home runs, 53 runs, and 60 RBI. Ruben Amaro's current asking price is unknown.

Phillies have not received acceptable offer for any of their players.

The Phillies are clearly sellers, and it would be a shame if they weren't able to unload a few of their albatross contracts before the deadline. Cole Hamels is the only piece that is likely to land them more than a B-level prospect at this point, as Cliff Lee's recent struggles have now placed his value in doubt.

Carlos Ruiz is not in the Phillies starting lineup on Wednesday.

Ruiz will get the day off after having caught Tuesday night. It's the usual M.O. for a day game following a night game, so nothing big here. Wil Nieves will get the start.

Jimmy Rollins is not in the Phillies starting lineup on Wednesday.

Rollins has started every game since July 8, so with an early start Wednesday following a night game, he'll get a regular day of rest here. Andres Blanco will get the nod at shortstop.

Cole Hamels tossed eight scoreless innings allowing just six hits and no walks while striking out eight batters in Tuesday's shutout win over the Mets.

Hamels improved to 6-5 with a 2.55 ERA and 1.13 WHIP on Tuesday night, having now allowed three runs or less in all but three of his 19 starts this season. The Phillies hurler has certainly turned things around after a shaky 2013 campaign, having now fanned 133 batters while walking just 39 over 130.1 innings. Although the Phillies have been rumored to be shopping Hamels before the trade deadline, it is unlikely he will be moved unless someone blows them away with a trade offer, so as of now it appears this was not his last start in a Phillies uniform. Barring an unforeseen trade Hamels will be back in the hill for the Phillies when they take on the Nationals on Sunday.

Grady Sizemore went 1-for-4, belting his third home run of the season in Tuesday's victory over the Mets.

Sizemore connected on his first home run as a member of the Phillies as he continues to try and salvage what is left of an injury-riddled career. Although he is now hitting .314 since joining the Phillies, Sizemore does not see everyday playing time, so there is little chance he will gain much fantasy value down the road, unless the Phillies decide to move some of their outfielders before the trade deadline.

Jimmy Rollins went 1-for-4 with a home run, one RBI and a pair of runs scored in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Mets.

Despite going yard for the third time since returning from the All-Star break, Rollins is slashing just .192/.276/.442 over his last 52 at-bats. His recent slump has dropped his batting average to .239 on the season, but as long as he continues to hit for power (14 HR) and do damage on the base paths (19 SB) he remains a solid fantasy shortstop even if dealt to a contender before the trade deadline.
