Jrue Holiday required five stitches over his right eye on Tuesday.

Last night was Holiday's first regular season game since going down with a leg injury in early January, but he played without any restrictions throughout the preseason and looked fine in 27 minutes last night. He is valueable to fantasy owners with his combination of excellent assist numbers and steals that makes him an underrated mid-round PG. The stitches were required after Holiday after a collision during Tuesday's game, but he quickly returned to finish with eight points, two rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block

Ryan Anderson scored 22 points (9-22 FGA/ 1-3 FTA) going 3-for-6 from three-point range and adding nine rebounds in the Pelicans 101-84 win over the Magic on Tuesday.

Anderson came off the bench on Tuesday night and had an excellent game, almost notching a double-double in 22 minutes. We know that Anderson is an injury risk, but he appears to be healthy right now, so we'll keep our fingers crossed. He'll provide a solid amount of three pointers and rebounds throughout the season.

Tyreke Evans scored 12 points (5-15 FGA/ 2-5 FTA) with six assists and nine rebounds in the Pelicans 101-84 win over the Magic on Tuesday.

It was a very solid night for the Pelicans starting small forward as he was able to put up great numbers across the board. Though he only managed 12 points, the six assists and nine rebounds were a fantastic compliment. Evans was hampered by a hamstring issue late in the preseason, but that appears to be behind him.

Eric Gordon scored eight points (3-8 FGA/ 1-3 FTA) going 1-for-3 from three-point range with four rebounds, two steals and two blocks in the Pelicans 101-84 win over the Magic on Tuesday.

Gordon logged 32 minutes on Tuesday night and only had eight points but was able to chip in with two steals and two blocks. The blocks were a surprise, but you can expect Gordon to average 15 or so points on any given night with a handful of assists.

Jrue Holiday scored eight points ( 4-11 FGA/ 0-0 FTA) with four assists, three steals, two rebounds and one block in the Pelicans 101-84 win over the Magic on Tuesday.

Holiday had to leave the game due to a laceration above his eye, but he returned and finished with eight points. The 24-year-old point guard didn't really stand out in any category on Tuesday night, but he chipped in with a little bit of everything. He's going to be a solid contributor this season, especially in the assists department.

Omer Asik scored 14 points(7-10 FGA/ 0-3 FTA) with 17 rebounds, five blocks and two assists in the Pelicans 101-84 win over the Magic on Tuesday.

Asik logged 34 minutes on Tuesday night and put forth a fantastic performance. With 17 rebounds and five blocks, fantasy owners have to be salivating at Asik's prospects for the 2014-15 season.

Anthony Davis scored 26 points (10-22 FGA/ 6-9 FTA) with 17 rebounds, nine blocks, three steals and two assists in the Pelicans 101-84 win over the Magic on Tuesday.

Talk about a phenomenal first game of the season. Davis almost posted a triple double, but fell one block short. Yes, you read that correctly--Davis had nine blocked shots on Tuesday night. He was a consensus top five picks headed into drafts this year, but he may finish the season as fantasy basketball's number one player. The sky is the limit for Davis considering that he's already solidified himself as a superstar at age 21.

Jrue Holiday has abrasion over his right eye and is expected to return.

Holiday will head to the locker room to get his cut cleaned up and should be back on the floor in no time. This isn't a serious issue, so breathe easy fantasy owners.

Pelicans placed rookies Russ Smith and Patric Young on inactive list for Tuesday's game.

Both players are at the tail end of the depth chart as they will only see minutes in the future if the Pelicans suffer some injuries. Ignore both players in all fantasy formats.
